Drive cleat notcher with bender
A hand-held drive cleat tool for the forming of sheet material such as drive cleats. The tool has a first handle; a second handle pivotably coupled to the first handle at a handle pivot; the handle pivot having a handle pivot axis; an inner jaw coupled to the first handle; the inner jaw having an inner jaw cutting edge substantially triangular in cross section in an inner jaw plane parallel to the handle pivot axis; an outer jaw coupled to the second handle, the outer jaw having an insert surface beveled in a cutting plane orthogonal to the inner jaw plane; the outer jaw having a surface defining an outer jaw cutting edge adjacent which the inner jaw cutting edge passes; and wherein rotation of the second handle relative to the first handle rotates the inner jaw relative to the outer jaw.
TOOLS FOR FOLDING PIECES OF SHEET METAL AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE THEREOF
This disclosure enables various tools for folding pieces of sheet metal and methods of manufacture and use thereof. For example, some of such tools include a first pair of jaws spaced apart from each other at a first distance, a second pair of jaws spaced apart from each other at a second distance greater than the first distance, and a body spanning between the first pair of jaws and the second pair of jaws. By having the second distance being greater than the first distance, a user may use the body to form a primary bend (e.g., a hem) on a piece of sheet metal via bending the piece of sheet metal via the first pair of jaws, or vice versa, and then a secondary bend of the primary bend to form a desired shape (e.g., an S-shape) on the piece of sheet metal via the second pair of jaws, or vice versa.
System And Method For Monitoring An Angle Of A Crimp Tool That Crimps A Weather Strip Onto A Flange Of A Vehicle
A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a crimp tool angle sensor, a flange section module, and a diagnostic module. The crimp tool angle sensor measures at least one of a roll angle of a crimp tool, a pitch angle of the crimp tool, and a yaw angle of the crimp tool. The flange section module identifies a flange section of a vehicle on which the crimp tool is disposed based on at least one of the roll angle, the pitch angle, and the yaw angle. The diagnostic module determines whether at least one of the roll angle, the pitch angle, and the yaw angle is within a predetermined range.
Sheet Metal Tooling Assembly
A sheet metal tooling assembly for drilling, snipping, notching, and crimping sheet metal includes a housing, which defines an interior space. A motor and a drive linkage are engaged to the housing and are positioned in the interior space. The drive linkage is operationally engaged to the motor. A battery is selectively engageable to the first section so that the battery is operationally engaged to the motor. A fixed chuck is engaged to the housing and is operationally engaged to the drive linkage. A tool for tooling sheet metal is selectively engageable to the fixed chuck. The motor is positioned to actuate the tool via the drive linkage and the shaft so that the tool can effect tooling of the sheet metal.
VERSATILE MANUAL CRIMPER FOR ROOF SEAMING
A manual crimping device for roof seaming purposes that includes interchangeable components to allow for myriad different crimping configurations is disclosed. Such a device (and method of roof seaming utilization therewith) permits a user a selection of many different crimping results, whether in terms of crimp angle, crimp indentations, and/or crimp folds. A two-station crimp application configuration within the subject device further permits the user the ability to deform a subject seam to a proper final result, basically providing an initial crimp operation with a separate second and subsequent crimp to the same seam until reaching final status. The interchangeable components, being at least an anvil, a blade, and a hook, allows for these myriad different results without having to utilize and thus possess such a myriad different number of manual crimpers. A manual crimping method utilizing such a versatile device for different crimping results is encompassed herewith as well.
Methods and apparatuses for mechanically opening and closing one or more longitudinal seams
The disclosed embodiments includes apparatuses, devices, and methods for inserting a male component of a first sheet metal portion into a female component of a second sheet metal portion, placing the longitudinal straight seam closing tool over the male and female components, and applying pressure to the longitudinal straight seam closing tool. The longitudinal straight seam closing tool includes an interior block portion, an exterior block portion, and a closing channel formed between the interior block portion and the exterior block portion, the interior block portion being configured to contact the first sheet metal portion and the closing channel being configured to extend over a protrusional tab of the female component when the interior block portion is in contact with the first sheet metal portion.
FOLDING PLIERS
Folding pliers for bending sheet metal includes a first clamping area and a second clamping area. Clamping areas are connected for rotation about a first axis. A first handle piece, which is connected to the first clamping area, and a second handle piece is pivotably connected to the first handle piece. The second handle piece is connected to the second clamping area and is rotatable about a second rotation axis, so when the first handle piece is pivoted relative to the second handle piece from a transport position, the first clamping area is moved relative to the second clamping area to clamp a piece of sheet metal between the clamping areas. After this, another pivot movement of the first handle piece relative to the second handle piece causes rotational movement of the first clamping area and second clamping area about the second rotation axis to bend the clamped sheet metal.
PITTSBURGH HAND TOOL
Disclosed is a tool useful for fabricating sheet metal ductwork, the tool comprises a handle portion extending from an end of which are first and second prongs, the first prong extending from and in substantially the same plane as the handle portion, the second prong extending outwardly from the handle at a obtuse angle and spaced apart and opposite from the first prong; the second prong having an arcuate tip end that is curved radially at an acute angle toward the direction of the first prong but extending just beyond it.
Combination sheet metal hammer and duet stretcher device
A combination sheet metal hammer and duct stretcher device. The device is directed to the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning and particularly to a duct assembly tool for drawing and pinching two pieces of duct work together.
Drive cleat tool
Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide a tool that is used to prepare a squished C channel (Drive Cleat) segment for installation on HVAC duct work. In various embodiments, the tool includes a blade at one end of the tool that is configured to fit within the channel of the drive cleat, to open the channel a predetermined amount. Additionally, the tool can include a pocket portion on the other end of the tool that includes an opening for inserting a drive cleat portion into, for bending the drive cleat portion.
