Method and Apparatus for Reforming an Inside Dome Wall Portion of a Container
A reform apparatus for reforming a bottom portion of a metallic beverage container is provided. The reform apparatus generally includes a pair of reform rollers interconnected to pivot arms. Spring are operably interconnected to the reform rollers such that the reform rollers a biased radially inwardly in an unactuated state. The springs at least one of spring bushings and compression springs. The reform rollers rotate radially outwardly when a wedge member pushes axially between the two pivot arms. The wedge member engages and imparts rotation to the pivot arms. An annular edge of each of the reform rollers contacts an inner wall portion of the bottom portion of the beverage container to form a groove of a predetermined size and shape.
Spring-loaded knockout pad
Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to seaming assembly for seaming a can lid onto a can body. In one example embodiment, a seaming assembly includes a chuck; and a knockout pad that is movable relative to said chuck in an axial direction of said chuck. The knockout pad includes a fastening element, and a holding element in a spring-loaded manner relative to the fastening element such that contact with the can lid is effected and established in a spring-loaded region.
METHOD OF MAKING A CAN
The present invention relates to can-type containers, closed at one end by a flexible bottom attached to the can by means of a crimping ring which is a welded ring.
SPRING-LOADED KNOCKOUT PAD
The invention relates to a seaming assembly for seaming a can lid onto a can body with a chuck and a knockout pad that is movable relative to the chuck in an axial direction of the chuck, where the knockout pad comprises a holding element arranged in a spring-loaded manner. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for seaming a can lid onto a can body using the seamer according to the invention.
SEAMING DEVICE
Provided is a seaming device that makes it possible to easily adjust an axial load applied to a can during seaming and that makes it possible to prevent the buckling of the can without any shock load being applied, apply a constant axial load according to a decrease in the height of the can during the seaming, and achieve the high speed of a seaming process. The seaming device has a can placement unit (110) that places a can (C), a chuck unit (120) provided opposite the can placement unit, and a seaming roll (131) that seams a lid (F) onto the can (C). The can placement unit (110) has a pressing mechanism (111) that operates by fluid pressure and elastically upwardly presses a plate (112) on which the can (C) is placed.
