METHOD FOR TEXTURIZING CAPSULES
Described herein are methods for texturizing metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpieces or capsules. A texturizing apparatus that includes a texturizing sector and a texturizing spindle tip is disclosed. The metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpieces or capsules are placed onto the texturizing spindle tip that includes a texture. A pressure is applied to the texturizing sector and the metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpiece or capsule, and the texturizing spindle tip is rotated against the texturizing sector to impart an image of the texturizing spindle tip texture to the metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpiece or capsule. The texturizing sector may include a smooth surface and a resilient material, and the texturizing spindle tip may include a textured surface and a non-resilient material. The texture of the metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpiece or capsule includes the imparted image of the texturizing spindle tip texture.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING TEAR-OPEN LIDS
A method for manufacturing a tear-off lid (27). A lid blank (9) is punched with a punching tool (1, 5) having a die (6) and a cutting punch (2, 3) to form a lid ring (8) with a central removal opening (17) surrounded by a sealing flange (18). The edge of the removal opening (17) is then formed by drawing to a collar (20) projecting from the sealing flange (18) on the intended inside of the lid (underside), the collar (20) is rolled up at its free end and a tear-off foil (24) is sealed or glued onto the sealing flange (18) on the intended outside of the lid (upper side).
In accordance with the invention, the die (6) is arranged on the inner side (bottom) of the lid and the cutting punch (2, 3) is moved into the die (6) from the outer side (top) of the lid while punching out a punched pad (16) and the punched pad (16) is conveyed by compressed air through the die (6) to a conveyor (33) by means of which it is removed from the tool area.
It has been shown that by this measure the known and established processes and devices for the production of tear-off lids can be modified with very little effort in such a way that during the punching of the lid blank (9) the punching or cutting pad is produced on the intended inner side (underside) of the produced lid ring (8), which is desirable when producing lids with “re-verse curl”.

Bottle, cap and machine
A machine for manufacturing a closure that has: a workspace for receiving a blank, a rim punch arranged to engage a blank received within the workspace, a center punch arranged radially inside the rim punch, the center punch arranged to engage the blank received within the workspace to form a closure, and an ejection pin arranged to cause the center punch to move such that the closure disengages from the rim punch.
Methods of forming closure members
A method of forming a closure member may include: providing a support member with an outer support surface; providing a member including a first member made of electrically conductive material, wherein the first member includes a first tubular sleeve extending along a longitudinal direction between a first top end and a first bottom end; positioning the member on the support member; applying a magnetic field on the member to deform at least a portion of the first tubular sleeve around the support member to form the closure member; and/or removing the formed closure member from the support member for subsequently fitting the formed closure member on a neck of a container or a closure body.

Lid for a metal can, comprising a metal ring and a peelable, heat-sealed membrane
A lid suitable for closing a metal can includes a metal ring onto which a peelable membrane is sealed. An inner annular part of the metal ring is equipped with a roll defining an annular space therebetween. The first connection portion of the roll and the second connection portion of the inner annular part opposite are sealed to one another by element of a heat-sealing material to form a seal sealing the annular space so at to protect the free edge of the roll. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a lid.
