MATERIAL DEPOSITION ASSEMBLY FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
An additive manufacturing apparatus includes a stage configured to hold a component. A radiant energy is device operable to generate and project radiant energy in a patterned image. An actuator is configured to change a position of the stage relative to the radiant energy device. A deposition assembly is upstream of the stage and configured to deposit a resin on a resin support. The deposition assembly includes a reservoir housing configured to retain a volume of resin between the upstream wall and the downstream wall. The deposition assembly also includes an application device operably coupled with the reservoir housing. A computing system is operably coupled with the application device. The computing system is configured to intermittently initiate a flush operation between successive layers of the component, wherein the application device is moved from a first position to a second position during the flush operation.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING WITH WETTING AGENT
A three-dimensional printing kit can include a wetting agent, a binding agent, and a particulate build material. The wetting agent an include water, from about 5 wt % to about 60 wt % organic co-solvent, and from about 0.1 wt % to about 10 wt% surfactant. The binding agent can include from about 2 wt % to about 25 wt % polymer binder and a liquid vehicle. The particulate build material can include from about 80 wt % to 100 wt % metal particles that can have a D50 particle size ranging from about 2 gm to about 150 μm.
Active metal catalyst
A method of forming a catalyst is provided herein. The method comprises combining a binder, a support, and an active metal to form a slurry composition. The method further comprises applying the slurry composition using an additive manufacturing process to form a green part. The method further comprises exposing the green part to heat at a temperature of from about 10° C. to about 150° C. to form the hardened part. The method further comprises applying a ceramic-based coating material to the hardened part to form the catalyst.
MULTI-CHAMBER DEPOSITION EQUIPMENT FOR SOLID FREE FORM FABRICATION
Provided is a chamber system for solid free form fabrication, the chamber system having a deposition chamber, a service chamber and one or more loading/unloading chambers. The chamber system allows for a more efficient and cost effective process to service the deposition apparatus, load holding substrates, and unload workpieces without requiring having to adjust the atmosphere in the deposition chamber.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING DEVICE
A three-dimensional modeling device includes a modeling section supplied with a material including a metal powder, a laser source adapted to emit a laser used to sinter or melt the metal powder, and an optical component through which the laser emitted from the laser source passes in the midway to the material on the modeling section. The optical component is provided with a first area, which faces to the modeling section, and through which the laser passes, and a second area higher in surface free energy than the first area is disposed in at least a part of a periphery of the first area.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHOD
A method for a workpiece comprising a material composed of a base material and an additive is disclosed, the method including spreading a granular material in superimposed layers. The granular material contains the base material and an organic binder. An ink contains a solvent for dissolving the binder, and a suspension of the additive. Using the ink, patterns are printed onto individual layers. The ink dissolves the binder in the region of the patterns, and introduces the additive in the region of the patterns. The patterns in the layers together produce a three-dimensional shape of the workpiece. The solvent is expelled so that the granular material is connected by the binder and the additive is fixed. Granular material unwetted by the solvent is removed to reveal the green compact of the workpiece. The green compact is thermally treated to convert the base material and the additive into the material.
