HOLDER AND CUTTING TOOL
20230001488 · 2023-01-05 · ·

Provided is a holder of a cutting insert that performs turning on a work by feeding a cutting edge in a Y axis direction which is different from a longitudinal direction (X axis) of a tool holder installed in a tool rest, and that can easily adjust the projection amount without contacting a part of the holder to the tool rest. A Y axis holder holds the cutting insert including a cutting edge to perform turning on a work that moves along the Z axis, and is installed in a state where relative movement in the X axis direction with respect to the tool rest is possible, such that a projection amount of the cutting insert along the X axis is changeable. The Y axis holder performs turning on the work using the cutting insert when the holder moves in the Y axis direction which is different from the X axis direction. The Y axis holder has a shape in which an end portion thereof in the X axis direction is projected from the cutting edge of the cutting insert, and a positioning portion to determine the projection amount of the cutting insert from the tool rest is disposed on the end portion.

An indexable parting blade has opposite blade first and second sides, a blade peripheral edge, a central index axis, and at least first, second and third insert pockets located along the blade peripheral edge. The parting blade also has first, second and third coolant channels, each forming a coolant path from a corresponding inlet to a corresponding one of the insert pockets. Each coolant channel includes a rake outlet opening out to a rake side of its corresponding insert pocket and a relief outlet opening out to a relief side of that same insert pocket. The inlet corresponding to a given coolant channel is located further from that coolant channel's insert pocket than at least one of (a) the inlet corresponding to a different coolant channel, and (b) the central index axis.

A holder provided for mounting of a lathe cutter includes a carrier, a first joint seat, a second joint seat, a limit rod and a clamp member. The first and second joint seats are disposed on a first and second base of the carrier respectively. The lathe cutter is mounted between the first and second joint seats. The limit rod is inserted into a through hole of the lathe cutter, and a first and second ends of the limit rod are coupled to the first and second joint seats respectively. The clamp member is disposed on the limit rod. The clamp member and the second joint seat are provided to clamp the lathe cutter to separate the lathe cutter from the first and second bases.

Cutting tool part assembly

A cutting head attachment assembly for a cutting tool includes a body forming an axially forward part of the cutting tool attachable to a cutting head via a clamping element and a fixation element. A guide surface provided at the body or cutting head extends in both a radial and an axial direction to support movement of the clamping element in both the radial and axial directions via actuation of the fixation element to force and clamp together axially the head and body.

MACHINE TOOL AND MACHINING METHOD

A machine tool includes: a joint portion processing control means for controlling the processing of the joint portion in a joined workpiece such that a first workpiece is gripped by a grip section, and a predetermined region extending from a joint portion of a joined workpiece toward a second workpiece is processed over a range of not less than a predetermined width to have an outer diameter of not more than an outer diameter of the first workpiece; and a movement control means for controlling the movement of the joined workpiece so as to slidingly move the joined workpiece relative to the support section, from a state in which the first workpiece is supported by the support section, up to a state in which the second workpiece is supported by the support section.

Parting blade and tool holder therefor

A tool holder including a tool shank and a tool head connected to the tool shank. The tool head comprising an insert seat or a blade pocket. Adjacent to at least a portion of a shank side surface there is a reinforcement portion connecting the shank side surface and the tool head.
