A combined skiver and a smooth rolling tool with a skiver head and behind this a smooth rolling head, wherein between the skiver head and the rolling head an exclusive torque transmitting coupling is located which restricts the allowable axis shaft offset and/or the angular position of the axes of the rolling head and skiver head, to which the rolling head is connected, characterized in that the skiver head (2) is guided through a workpiece bore via a hydrostatic guideway.

Machine Tool Accessory for Swarf Removal
20170341115 · 2017-11-30 ·

The disclosed embodiments provide a novel and unique apparatus and method to remove swarf from a workpiece during the operation of a machine tool on that workpiece. In a preferred embodiment, a set of slanted vanes attached to a rotating part of the machine tool, when that rotating part is directed at the workpiece, clears swarf from a workpiece during machine operation without having to add any other expensive swarf removal parts, or integrate any complicated swarf removal system into the machine tool. The vanes on the rotating part, using the motion of that rotating part, provide the required force of air to blow swarf out and away from the workpiece. Among the many different possibilities contemplated, the rotating part can be a spindle, or a tool holder, or an endmill, or any other rotating part of a machine tool pointed at the workpiece during the operation of the machine. Additionally, the set of slanted vanes can attach to an inner hub fitted around or onto the rotating part and the slanted vanes can spin free of any other parts if the composition of the vanes with any metallic or non-metallic material make the vanes sufficiently stiff to provide the necessary air force on the workpiece during the operation of the machine and the high speed of the rotating part. Also, the outer edge of the slanted vanes can connect to a shroud surrounding the vanes and thus keep the slanted vanes in the required slanted position to produce the necessary force of air on the workpiece. Additionally, O-rings can be used to fit the inner hub to the rotating part and thus provide another way to create the firm and secure attachment of the machine tool swarf removal apparatus to the rotating part.

Tube Peeling Witness Groove Methods and Apparatus

A tube scraping tool comprises: a handle; and a blade, carried by the handle. The tool has first and second laterally spaced apart portions for engaging the tube outer diameter (OD) surface during a drawing of the tool along the tube. The blade has a cutting edge trailing the first and second portions during the drawing and laterally between the first and second portions.

SYSTEMS FOR MICROTOMING A PIPE

Systems for circumferentially microtoming a pipe having a longitudinal axis. The systems include a frame, a lathe, a carriage, a cutting tool, and an actuator. The lathe is mounted to the frame and configured to support and rotate the pipe about the longitudinal axis of the pipe. The carriage is operatively supported on the frame proximate the pipe. The cutting tool selectively engages the pipe. The actuator is operatively supported on the frame and configured to move the carriage to different radial positions perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pipe. In some examples, the system includes a position sensor, a computer display, and/or a controller.

Peeler device

A peeler device removes a thin layer from the outer surface of the end of a plastic pipe or tapping tee. In the preferred embodiments, the device has a main body and a mandrel. The pipe to be peeled is pushed onto the mandrel when the mandrel is in an out position. As the main body is rotated, a blade advances onto the plastic pipe and peels a thin layer off the outer surface of the pipe as it is advanced. The main body is rotated until peeling is complete. There may be a sight window in the main body to permit visual confirmation of when peeling is complete. A spring loaded blade lever is actuated to raise the blade and the pipe is pulled out of the main body.

Peeling plate

A peeling plate has upper and lower sides, lateral faces extending between the upper and lower sides, and primary and secondary cutting edges at the transition from the lateral faces to the upper side. The peeling plate in a plan view of the upper side has the shape of a substantially regular n-gon, n being five or six, and n lateral edges lying between the n lateral faces. A primary cutting edge and a secondary cutting edge are formed at the transition from at least one lateral face to the upper surface, wherein active primary cutting edges and active secondary cutting edges are spaced apart from a lateral edge. The lateral edge at the transition to the upper side forming an active cutting corner to the respective active primary cutting edge and active secondary cutting edge.

A skiving apparatus is provided for at least partial removal of the surface of an least approximately tubular body having a center axis, in particular of a plastic pipe, comprising a clamp assembly having a center axis and at least one clamp member for clamping the skiving apparatus to the tubular body, a skiving assembly comprising a skiving arm unit, a skiving knife arrangement disposed at a first end of the skiving arm unit, and a skiving arm support that connects the clamp assembly to the skiving arm unit. The skiving arm unit is connected by its first and second ends to the skiving knife arrangement and the skiving arm support and is pivotable in the common plane with the center axis of the clamp assembly in such a way that the skiving knife arrangement keeps its orientation relative to the center axis of the clamp assembly in every pivoted position of the skiving arm unit. A clamp assembly as a tool holder for a tool such as a skiving tool is also provided, for machining an approximately tubular body having a center axis, in particular a plastic pipe, having a center axis, a mandrel disposed coaxially with the center axis of the clamp assembly, and at least one clamping device disposed on the mandrel and directed substantially radially outwards.
