Self-Balancing Tool Holder or Material Removal Machine
20230107959 · 2023-04-06 ·

Improvements in a self-balancing tool holder or material removal machine that allows for greater accuracy of material removal. The balancer is able to self-adjust, any changes in the assembly are automatically adjusted. The adjustment can account for tool wear, accumulation of debris on the tool and balancing at different speeds of rotation. The tool holder balancer can be a mechanical fastener, shrink fit or bonding to the tool holder or material removal machine. The balancer uses a plurality of balls or any form of movable weight in the ring to provide the balance. The plurality of balls or media can freely move around the inside of the ring to offset any imbalance. The balls roll or spin to unique positions to provide a dynamic balance. The number and size of balls or weighted media is selected based upon the maximum amount of dynamic balancing that is required.

DRILL BIT STABILIZER AND METHOD OF USE
20230173592 · 2023-06-08 ·

A drill bit stabilizer and a method of drilling holes through work surfaces. The drill bit stabilizer includes an adhesive strip with a drill guide hole portion extending outwardly therefrom. The adhesive strip with the drill guide hole portion is preferably transparent and portable for placement on a surface through which a hole is to be drilled. The method includes the steps of providing an adhesive strip with a drill guide hole portion extending therefrom; positioning the adhesive strip on a surface; releasably mounting the adhesive strip to the surface; inserting a drill bit attached to a drill motor into the drill guide hole portion; drilling a hole through the drill guide hole portion and into the surface beneath it; and removing the adhesive strip from the surface after the hole has been drilled.

Tool system for machining a workpiece

A tool system for machining a workpiece is provided having a cylinder-shaped retaining shank that has a cutting head holder on an end surface facing the workpiece, a drive mount on an end surface facing the drive, a cutting head having at least one cutting edge, a cutting head hub corresponding to the cutting head holder on the retaining shank, a tool coupling with a tool interface, and a coupling hub corresponding to the drive mount. The coupling hub or the cutting head hub have elevated areas, with contact surfaces, distributed in circumferential and longitudinal directions of the coupling hub or the cutting head hub. The contact surfaces make contact on support surfaces on the drive mount or on the cutting head holder on the retaining shank. The drive mount or the cutting head holder is permanently connected to the coupling hub or the cutting head hub by a joining material in intermediate spaces between the elevations.

METHOD FOR RELOADING A SINGLE-FLUTE DRILL, AND SINGLE-FLUTE DRILL

A method for reloading a single-flute drill comprising a shaft made of a hard metal and a drill head that is connected to the shaft and is made of a hard metal, is characterized by the following steps: removing a worn drill head from the shaft; integrally bonding a new drill head to the shaft.

CUTTER ASSEMBLY AND METHODS FOR MAKING SAME

A cutter assembly for a cutting tool has a super-hard volume of super-hard material having a proximal end and a distal end and including a cavity; and a cover member. The super-hard volume has a super-hard surface at the distal end including a cutting edge. The cavity has a cavity open end at the distal end. The super-hard surface includes a cavity peripheral area coterminous with the cavity open end and the cover member has a cover peripheral area configured to mate with the cavity peripheral area to allow the cover member to cover the cavity at the cavity open end, the covered cavity providing a housing chamber within the super-hard volume. A method of making a cutter assembly is also disclosed.
