20170341151 · 2017-11-30 ·

Disclosed is a multiple machining apparatus for, upon receiving a plastic cylindrical work piece therewithin, performing multiple machining operations thereon. The apparatus comprises a rotary fixture capable of rotation; the rotary fixture comprises a proximal means for snugly holding a proximal portion of the work piece, and a distal means for holding substantially the rest of the portion of the work piece. The apparatus further comprises a movable table comprising a blade holder for holding a plurality of blades, each of which corresponding to a machining operation, the movable table and thereby the blade holder capable movement along X, Y and Z axes. The multiple machining operations are executed as the work piece is rotated and with the blades working against the rotating work piece.

A drill chuck having a chuck body, having a clamping sleeve with a conical basic shape that can rotate about the chuck axis of the chuck body, by the rotation of which clamping sleeve a plurality of clamping jaws can be moved relative to the clamping body. The clamping sleeve is made in two parts, having a conical, metallic outer sleeve, having a conical, inner sleeve made of plastic, wherein the outer sleeve has a cylindrical subsection on its inner circumference for radial centering of the outer sleeve on the inner sleeve. A clamping sleeve and a method for producing knurling on the clamping sleeve are also provided.

A bushing for a drill template, the bushing has a head portion for receipt of a drill motor. The head portion has a top surface and a bottom surface with at least one pin protruding from the bottom surface of the head portion. The pin fits within a secondary opening in a template to help retain the bushing in place. A body portion extends from the bottom surface of the head portion. The body portion has an outer surface with a portion of it threaded. The body portion extends through a primary drill hole in the template. A fastening nut having inner threads mates with the outer threads on the body portion to lock the bushing to the template. A bore extends through the head portion and the body portion for receipt of a drill bit.

A bit-removal assembly includes a first ring coupled to an output shaft for co-rotation therewith, a second ring supported on the lower retaining ring of the output shaft, a frusto-conical surface on at least one of the first or second rings, and a wedge positioned between the first and second rings and engaging with the frusto-conical surface. A collar defines a cam surface located radially outward of the wedge. The collar is movable between a locked position, in which the cam surface is engaged with the wedge to displace the wedge radially inward on the frusto-conical surface to separate the second ring from the first ring, and a released position, in which the cam surface is misaligned with the wedge to permit the wedge to move radially outward on the frusto-conical surface. A biasing member urges the collar towards the locked position.
