Scanning Bevels in Preparation for Welding
A method measures an edge of a workpiece by scanning. The scanning is performed by a scanning tool mounted on a moving head of an edge-facing machine while that moving head is moved along the edge to be measured before, during or after an edge facing tool of the edge-facing machine that faces the edge. The method can be performed by an edge-facing machine that includes at least one edge facing tool and that further includes a scanning tool mounted on a movable head of the machine, which head is movable along an edge of a workpiece.
Flex adapter for stripping tool
A flex adapter for a stripping tool for treating plastic pipes or pipes coated with plastic, comprising a base body, at least two fins with respective sops. The fins are flexibly designed such that an outer radial load on the stops produces an opposing spring force; the fins are present in the rear region of the base body. The flex adapter according to the invention further comprises tensioning elements that are arranged integrally in the front region on the base body.
Pipe cutting apparatus, kit, and method
A kit is disclosed for cutting differing sized pipes internally. The kit includes a pipe cutting apparatus, and a plurality of assemblies. The pipe cutting apparatus includes at least one drive member. The plurality of assemblies, attachable to the pipe cutting apparatus, each include: (1) at least one feed member to extend at least one cutting member against a pipe internally and to retract the at least one cutting member from the pipe internally, the at least one drive member to rotate the at least one cutting member against the pipe internally; or (2) at least one clamping member to secure the pipe cutting apparatus to the pipe internally. Each of the plurality of assemblies differ in size so that differing sized pipes can be cut internally by the pipe cutting apparatus by attaching the appropriately sized assembly to the pipe cutting apparatus.
Device for holding a milling and/or grinding machine
A device for holding a milling and/or grinding machine, particularly hand-held milling and/or grinding machine, in a position for machining an edge at one end of a pipe. The holder device includes at least one rotatable roller which can be laid against the pipe inner side or the pipe outer side and by which a connecting part of the holder device, on which the milling and/or grinding machine can be arranged, may be moved along the edge.

Adjustable feed mechanisms, machining assemblies including the same, and associated methods. An adjustable feed mechanism includes a plurality of cam segments and a cam lifter configured to pivot each cam segment about a corresponding cam pivot point. An adjustable feed mechanism additionally includes a cam follower and a feed output assembly. The cam follower moves along the cam segments sequentially and is pivotally coupled to the feed output assembly. The cam follower pivots through a cam activation angle when moving along a given cam segment to produce the feed output. A machining assembly includes a mount assembly, a rotary element, and an adjustable feed mechanism. A method of utilizing a machining assembly to machine a work piece includes engaging the work piece with a machining assembly, positioning the tool head with respect to the work surface of the work piece, and machining the work surface.
Pipe facing machine system
A pipe facing machine (PFM) system includes a PFM and a hydraulic power source having a single hydraulic pump arranged to provide a hydraulic oil flow to the PFM via single hydraulic circuit. The PFM includes a body defining an axis and a cutting head arranged to rotate and translate relative to the axis. Drive systems are arranged to drive clamping of the PFM on a workpiece, rotation of the cutting head about the axis, and translation of the cutting head along the axis. A hydraulic controller includes a plurality of control elements and hydraulically connects the drive systems. The hydraulic controller is arranged to direct and regulate hydraulic oil flow between the drive systems and the hydraulic controller based on signals from the control elements and a computer control system.
TOOL HOLDER AND PIPE MACHINING TOOL
A skiving apparatus is provided for at least partial removal of the surface of an least approximately tubular body having a center axis, in particular of a plastic pipe, comprising a clamp assembly having a center axis and at least one clamp member for clamping the skiving apparatus to the tubular body, a skiving assembly comprising a skiving arm unit, a skiving knife arrangement disposed at a first end of the skiving arm unit, and a skiving arm support that connects the clamp assembly to the skiving arm unit. The skiving arm unit is connected by its first and second ends to the skiving knife arrangement and the skiving arm support and is pivotable in the common plane with the center axis of the clamp assembly in such a way that the skiving knife arrangement keeps its orientation relative to the center axis of the clamp assembly in every pivoted position of the skiving arm unit. A clamp assembly as a tool holder for a tool such as a skiving tool is also provided, for machining an approximately tubular body having a center axis, in particular a plastic pipe, having a center axis, a mandrel disposed coaxially with the center axis of the clamp assembly, and at least one clamping device disposed on the mandrel and directed substantially radially outwards.
Pipe edge preparation tool
A tool for performing work on a workpiece, such as a pipe, includes a mandrel assembly configured to secure to an interior portion of the pipe. The mandrel assembly includes an arm assembly configured to retain a cutting apparatus so as to be positioned at an outside portion of the pipe and to allow the cutting apparatus to revolve around the circumference of the pipe to perform work on the pipe. The mandrel assembly includes a hub and a plurality of jaws that allow it to secure to the interior of the pipe while the arm assembly props the cutting apparatus in a position to facilitate performing work on the pipe around the entire circumference of a section of the pipe. The engagement between the mandrel assembly and the pipe supports the weight of the tool, providing ease of use and improved control for pipe cutting operations.
System, method and apparatus for manipulating a workpiece
An automated system for manipulating a workpiece includes a machining device, a locating device configured to determine a position of a workpiece, and a positioning system operatively connected to the machining device and being configured to adjust a position of the machining device to align a centerline of the machining device with a longitudinal axis of the workpiece, based upon the determined position of the workpiece. The machining device includes a stabilizing mechanism to engage the workpiece to maintain the workpiece in the determined position, and a cutting element for performing a machining operation on the workpiece.
