Blade positioning structure of disposable milling cutter
A blade positioning structure of a disposable milling cutter includes a cutter body and a disposable blade. The cutter body is peripherally provided with a blade seat. By passing a screw through the disposable blade and the blade seat, the disposable blade is locked to the blade seat. The blade seat has a blade seat surface and a sidewall; the blade seat surface has a groove; the disposable blade has a bottom surface provided with a projection corresponding in shape to the groove; and when the disposable blade is locked to the blade seat, the blade seat surface and the groove of the latter lie respectively and tightly against the bottom surface and the projection of the former.
Indexable cutting tool
An indexable cutting tool stably clamps cutting inserts and prevents contact between head parts of fasteners and workpieces. Recesses with a bottom are formed in an upper surface of a cutting insert. Part of an inner wall surface of each recess curves and bulges toward a center axis of the recess. The recess is divided into first to fourth regions by a first imaginary reference plane parallel to a rotation axis of a body, and a second imaginary reference plane perpendicular to the rotation axis. The second region is on a center side and on a proximal side of the body. A tapered surface of a fastener contacts the curved surface within the second region. A center axis of the fastener inclines so a head part opposite a distal end part is closer to the center side and to the proximal side of the body than the distal end part.
ROTARY CUTTING METHOD
A rotary cutting method includes producing a processed product by rotary cutting of a workpiece by a rotary tool. The rotary tool has at least one cutting edge of which both of a first rake angle in a rotation radial direction and a second rake angle in a rotation axis direction are negative. The at least one cutting edge has a slanted face connected with a rake face forming the first and second rake angles. The slanted face is connected with the rake face at a ridge line. The slanted face faces a rotating direction of the rotary tool. An angle of the slanted face to the rotation axis direction is positive.
CUTTING INSERT, CUTTING EDGE-REPLACEABLE ROTARY CUTTING TOOL AND ROTARY CUTTING METHOD
A cutting insert has a plate shape centered on an insert center axis. The cutting insert includes a front surface and a back surface facing an insert axial direction, an outer peripheral surface facing outward in an insert radial direction, and a cutting edge at an intersecting ridge line between the front surface and the outer peripheral surface. The back surface has a flat shape perpendicular to the insert center axis. The outer peripheral surface includes a flank surface coupled. The flank surface is inclined inward in the insert radial direction as extending in the insert axial direction from the front surface side to the back surface side. The front surface includes a rake surface. The rake surface is inclined from a back surface side to a front surface side in the insert axial direction as extending inward in the insert radial direction from the cutting edge.
MILLING CUTTER
A milling cutter includes a milling drum having a body with a first end, a second end, an outer surface extending around a circumference of the body between the first and second ends, and a plurality of slots formed in the outer surface. The plurality of slots arranged in a staggered row between the first end and the second end of the body. The milling cutter also includes a plurality of cutting insert removably secured to the body. Each cutting insert is positioned at least partially within one of the plurality of slots and includes a cutting profile defined by rounded peaks and pointed valleys to cut a tooth form into a saw blade. The plurality of cutting inserts are staggered such that the plurality of cutting inserts are circumferentially offset from each other along a longitudinal axis of the milling drum.
INDEXABLE CUTTING TOOL
An indexable cutting tool that allows for stable clamping of cutting inserts and prevents contact between head parts of fastening members and workpieces is provided. Recesses with a bottom are formed in an upper surface of the cutting insert. At least part of an inner wall surface of the recess is a curved surface bulged toward a center axis of the recess. When the recess is divided into four, first to fourth, regions by a first imaginary reference plane parallel to a rotation axis of a body and a second imaginary reference plane perpendicular to the rotation axis, the second region is located on a center side and on a proximal side of the body. A tapered surface of the fastening member makes contact with the curved surface within the second region. A center axis line of the fastening member is inclined such that the head part opposite from a distal end part is located closer to the center side and to the proximal side of the body than the distal end part.
Cutting tool and method for manufacturing cut workpiece
In an embodiment, a cutting tool includes a holder and a cutting insert. The holder is elongated and includes an insert pocket that is located on a side of a first end. The cutting insert is secured to the insert pocket. The cutting tool further includes a clamp that fastens the cutting insert in the insert pocket, and a screw that comes in contact with the cutting insert and is secured to the insert pocket. The screw includes a first surface including a first engagement portion on a first surface that is located on a side of the first end. The first engagement portion is located within a through-hole included in the screw in a front view of the first end.
Cutting tool
A cutting tool may include a cutter body, and a cutting insert group coupled to the cutter body, wherein the cutter body includes a working length, wherein the cutting insert group forms a continuous cutting edge, and wherein the continuous cutting edge extends continuously through the working length of the cutter body.
Indexable, single-sided cutting insert having two clamping bores and cutting tool therefor
A cutting tool rotatable about a tool axis, having a cutting body and at least one indexable, single-sided cutting insert removably secured in an insert receiving pocket of the cutting body. The cutting insert has opposing upper and lower surfaces with a peripheral side surface extending therebetween and a central axis passing therethrough. First and second clamping bores extend between and open out at the upper and lower surfaces. First and second primary cutting edges are formed at the intersection of the upper surface and the peripheral side surface. The lower surface includes first and second annular recesses communicating with the first and second clamping bores, respectively, and first and second recess channels extending from the first and second clamping bores, respectively, to the peripheral side surface. The first and second recess channels extend parallel to a longitudinal first plane containing the central axis.
Insert, tool holder, and assembly thereof
A technical object is to provide an insert capable of preventing escaping of the insert from an assembly of the insert and a tool holder. To this purpose, the insert includes an insert body, and a holder fastening portion provided in the insert body to be fastened to the tool holder, in which the holder fastening portion includes one or more fastening holes formed through the insert body from an upper surface to a lower surface, and one or more locking recesses formed by being recessed in a lower surface periphery of the insert body.
