There is provided a machining assembly and cutting insert for machining metal or like workpieces, wherein the cutting insert body has a cutting end. The cutting end comprises at least one cutting edge and at least one cutting lip formed adjacent the at least one cutting edge. The at least one cutting lip includes at least one cutting protrusion and associated chip cutting edge to split the chip formed by the at least one cutting edge, for producing chips during machining which are of a width that is sufficiently reduced to allow proper evacuation or removal.

CUTTING INSERT AND TOOL FOR MACHINING
A cutting insert for a tool for machining a workpiece. The cutting insert comprises a clamping section which comprises a coolant channel which is configured as a through-hole. Further, the cutting insert comprises a cutting head having at least one cutting member which comprises a main cutting edge, a rake face which adjoins the main cutting edge, and a chip-breaking geometry which protrudes from the rake face or which is introduced into the rake face and which is configured to break a chip which is machined with the main cutting edge. Furthermore, the cutting insert comprises a cantilever arm which connects the clamping section to the cutting head and which has a smaller diameter than the clamping section. A portion of the cutting head comprising the chip-breaking geometry at least partially covers the coolant channel when viewed in a plan view from a front side along a longitudinal axis of the cutting insert.
ROTARY TOOL
There is provided a rotary tool including a rotary tool body and a blade provided to the rotary tool body and having a cutting edge, the blade containing 80% by volume or more of diamond, and the blade including a land surface extending along the cutting edge, and a chip breaker having a recess located opposite to the cutting edge with the land surface therebetween.
Reaming tool and method for the production thereof
A reaming tool, having a rotationally drivable main body (16) and at least one cutting body (18) fastened thereto. The at least one cutting body has at least one reaming blade (26) at the edge of a rake face (28). A chip-forming step (32) and/or chip-breaking elements (34) are formed in the rake face (28) and the reaming blade (26) has a ground cutting edge (40, 42, 44).
