Portable in-line hydraulic tool
A portable, hand held hydraulic cutting tool having an in-line handle assembly and a working head assembly. The handle assembly has a tool frame portion and a neck portion. The working head assembly has a pair of jaw members joined so that they are movable relative to each other and held in place by a locking pin. Each jaw member has a cutting blade attached thereto. Each jaw member can be tapered and can include weight reducing pockets defined in respective sidewalls. Each jaw member includes a raised tab on an outside edge that mates with a respective tab notch in a yoke of the neck portion of the handle assembly. When the locking pin is in an extended position, the jaw members of the tool can separate and rotate away from one another until their respective locking tabs engage their respective locking tab opening, connecting the jaw members to the yoke of the neck portion of the handle assembly.
METHOD FOR THE SEVERANCE OF AN ELECTRICAL POWER CABLE, OR OF A STRAND SECTION, DEVICE THEREFOR, AS WELL AS CUTTING DEVICE
A device is used to sever an electrical power cable for the transmission of high voltage. The cable has an insulation sheath, a screening layer and a conductive layer. The device includes a first frame having a first cutting blade mounted thereon, a second frame, and a measuring device mounted on the second frame. The first cutting blade is movable relative to the measuring device. The measuring device is capable of measuring an electrical load on the electrical power cable and capable of terminating the severing of the electrical power cable. A method of using the device is also provided.
Assembly for supporting and shearing a workpiece
A shearing apparatus includes a housing, a die within the housing, and a workpiece seat plate attached to the housing by a standoff. The die has a cutout which is positionable to align with a passageway through the housing. The workpiece seat plate is spaced from the housing by the standoff, and has a cutout which at least partially aligns with the passageway in the housing and the cutout in the die.
Method for operating a working device, and working device
A device and method for operating a motor-actuated working device is provided. A certain working operation requires a rise in an applied force to a certain working force. The device enables a rise in the force to a general working force that exceeds the certain working force and an apparatus is provided for monitoring the device value. For the certain working operation, an evaluation is performed to detect the characteristic change and that the attainment of the characteristic change is used as a signal for ending the certain working operation after the certain working force has been attained but before the general working force has been attained.
Powered threaded rod cutter
A powered threaded rod cutter includes first and second cutting dies, an electric motor, a planetary transmission positioned downstream of the motor, a drivetrain for converting a rotational output of the transmission to a pivoting movement of the first cutting die, and a clutch mechanism for redirecting torque from the motor away from a drivetrain and the first cutting die in response to the first cutting die seizing during a rod-cutting operation. The clutch mechanism includes a ring gear in the planetary transmission, and a spring that rotationally affixes the ring gear below a predetermined threshold of reaction torque through the drivetrain and permits rotation of the ring gear above the threshold.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR IN-POCKET TENDON SHEARING
An apparatus, system, and method for shearing cables, such as those used in concrete support structures, is presented. In one embodiment, an apparatus is presented that can include a casing, a handle, a cutting nose, a torque conversion mechanism, and a cable support. The cable support can be configured to removably couple to a cable, such as to secure the cable within a cable groove of the apparatus. In another embodiment, a system for cable shearing is presented, wherein the system comprises a shearing apparatus and torque-generation apparatus. In another embodiment, a method of clipping cables, such as within a pocket, is presented.
Binding machine
A binding machine comprises a cutting portion which cuts the wire, a fixed blade in which a first wire passage through which the wire passes is formed; and a movable blade in which a second wire passage through which the wire passes is formed. The movable blade includes a blade portion provided on one side of the second wire passage and a passage forming member provided on the other side of the second wire passage, the second wire passage includes a guiding portion for guiding the wire after cutting in a movement when the movable blade moves from the movement finish position to the standby position, and the guiding portion is protrudes in a direction of the guide portion and blocks a portion between the movable blade and the guide portion in a non-wire-passing-through manner when the movable blade moves to the standby position.
LASER GUIDED TOOLS
Tools for crimping or cutting of an object such as a wire, cable, or connector. The tool includes a first member and a second member configured to come together through a gap to crimp or cut a wire, cable or connector and a laser positioned to visually indicate a region where at least one member traverses as the first and second member come together through the gap. This visual indication aids in alignment of the object for the crimping or cutting operation.
PLIERS-TYPE CUTTING TOOL
A pliers-type cutting tool having two tool legs which cross at a joint pin and are pivotable about an axis of rotation in a pivot plane with respect to one another. The tool legs form gripping portions on one side of the joint pin and a pliers mouth on the other side. Cutting of the pliers mouth pass into a position one over the other, at least radially on the outside, for the first time in a closing region. The cutting edges have in the position one over the other only in the closing region a particular free length on this central plane, and that over the free length a greatest opening width is present along an intermediate length on the central plane, and that the greatest opening width makes up a third or more of the total length of the cutting edges.
