Fastening collar removal apparatus, methods of making a fastening collar removal apparatus, and methods of removing a fastening collar secured to a fastener
Fastening collar removal apparatus, methods of making fastening collar removal apparatus, and methods of removing a fastening collar secured to a fastener are provided. A fastening collar removal apparatus includes a collet including a first section including a substantially cylindrical shape and a second section operatively coupled to the first section. The second section includes a collet cavity extending therein. The collet cavity is configured to receive at least a portion of a collar. The second section includes at least two fingers formed by at least two axial channels in the second section. At least one of the at least two fingers includes a blade extending inwardly relative to a longitudinal axis of the collet. In an open configuration of the collet, each of the at least two fingers includes an outward taper relative to a longitudinal axis of the collet.
HOT BOLT CLAMP
A hot bolt clamp and method for repairing a multi-bolt flange of a pipe. The clamp has enclosures that can be assembled around the multi-bolt flange. The clamp has a central opening extending through a first enclosure face and a second enclosure face for the pipe. The clamp includes a flange bolt cavities extending through the enclosure faces configured to enclose flange bolts and having a cutter channel connected to each flange bolt cavity. Restraint bolts extend through the enclosure face to restrain the multi-bolt flange. Flange bolts can be removed and replaced during the repair operation. A cutter tool apparatus can be extended through each cutter channel for use in removing stuck flange bolts. The clamp forms an injectable void around the multi-bolt flange that is injectable with sealant in the event of a loss of gasket integrity during the repair operation.
Lock bolt collar removal tool
A blade assembly for cutting a member which surrounds a bolt member includes a first blade comprising a first cutting edge aligned with a first cutting plane which extends in a first direction from the first cutting edge; a second blade comprising a second cutting edge aligned with a second cutting plane which extends in a second direction from the second cutting edge; and a third blade comprising a third cutting edge aligned with a third cutting plane which extends in the second direction from the third cutting edge, wherein the first, second and third blades are associated with one another. The first cutting edge is spaced apart from the second and third cutting edges and the first cutting plane extends between the second and third cutting planes.
FASTENING COLLAR REMOVAL APPARATUS, METHODS OF MAKING A FASTENING COLLAR REMOVAL APPARATUS, AND METHODS OF REMOVING A FASTENING COLLAR SECURED TO A FASTENER
Fastening collar removal apparatus, methods of making fastening collar removal apparatus, and methods of removing a fastening collar secured to a fastener, are provided. The fastening collar removal apparatus comprises a collet comprising a first section comprising a substantially cylindrical shape and a second section operatively coupled to the first section. The second section comprises a collet cavity extending therein. The collet cavity is configured to receive at least a portion of a collar. The second section comprises at least two fingers formed by at least two axial channels in the second section. At least one of the at least two fingers comprises a blade extending inwardly relative to a longitudinal axis of the collet. In an open configuration of the collet, each of the at least two fingers comprises an outward taper relative to a longitudinal axis of the collet.
HYDRAULIC TOOLS
A hydraulic tool for working on a workpiece. A housing is configured for holding. A motor is positioned in the housing. A battery is supported by the housing and operable to supply power to the motor. A drive mechanism is supported by the housing and includes a cylinder, a piston moveably supported in the cylinder, and a pump powered by the motor and operable to supply hydraulic fluid to the cylinder to move the piston relative to the cylinder. A jaw member is supported by the housing and configured to engage with the workpiece. A spindle is operatively coupled to the drive mechanism such that operating the drive mechanism moves the spindle relative to the jaw member to work on the workpiece.
Cutting device
The present invention relates to a cutting device for use in cutting a collar which is mounted on a bolt in half, the cutting device comprising: ⋅ a mouth (16) for receiving the portion of the collar (28) to be cut; ⋅ a pair of jaws (17a, 17b) diametrically opposite one another and located within the mouth (16), each jaw (17a, 17b) being provided with a cutting blade (18), ⋅ a driver (22) for moving at least one jaw (17a) relative to the other (17b) such that the collar (28) can be cut in half by the action of the jaws (17a, 17b) moving towards one another, and ⋅ a guard (15) which, in use, prevents the cutting blade (18) from protruding beyond the mouth (16) and damaging a surface adjacent to the collar (28) to be cut in half.
Apparatus for the removal of a circular collar swage mounted on a cylindrical projection
Apparatus is disclosed for attaching to a lockbolt via a swaged-mounted collar. The apparatus includes an element which permits relative movement between a cutting blade and an opposing surface so that the collar is held centrally within the apparatus during cutting.
