METHOD FOR MACHINING WORKPIECE AND MACHINE TOOL
A method for machining a workpiece, includes: rotating a rotary tool around a rotation axis, the rotary tool including at least one edge positioned on an outer periphery of the rotary tool around the rotation axis; relatively moving the rotary tool toward the workpiece in a first direction so that the at least one edge cuts the workpiece by a predetermined depth while the rotary tool is rotated around the rotation axis; and relatively moving the rotary tool with respect to the workpiece in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction and that is inclined to a third direction substantially perpendicular to the rotation axis and the first direction.

FIELD MACHINING OF WIND TURBINE GEARBOXES
A gearbox repair assembly is disclosed herein. The gearbox repair assembly includes a sleeve having an inner diameter configured to receive a bearing assembly and an outer diameter configured to fit within a bore of a gearbox housing. The gearbox housing can be part of a gearbox of a wind turbine. The gearbox repair assembly further includes a retaining plate configured to be attached to the gearbox housing for preventing an outer race of the bearing assembly from rotating in the bore relative to the gearbox housing. Also provided are methods to repair such a gearbox. The gearbox repair assembly and related methods reduce the time and cost needed to repair the gearboxes.

METHOD FOR CHAMFERING TOOTHED GEAR
A method for chamfering toothed gears which enables lengthening of a life of a tool is provided. The chamfering method is for sequentially chamfering the line intersection portions 23 between tooth flanks 21 and end faces 22 of teeth 2 with end cutting edges 122. A pitch Pb of the end cutting edges 122 is set to five times a pitch Fa of the teeth 2. As a result, at a chamfering step of chamfering line intersection portions 23 of the teeth 2, a circumferential speed of the end cutting edges 122 can be made faster than a circumferential speed of the teeth 2. Consequently, a difference in circumferential speed between the end cutting edges 122 and the teeth 2 can be utilized in chamfering and thus a cutting resistance can be reduced during the chamfering. Therefore, a life of the tool 100 can be lengthened.

Tooling and method for fabricating helical sector gear and related helical sector gear
A helical sector gear having a body and a gear segment having a plurality of helical teeth. The gear segment has a toothed sector, on which all of the helical teeth are formed, and spacing segments on the opposite circumferential ends of the toothed sector. Each of the spacing segments has a circumferential surface, which is longer than a pitch of the helical teeth, and a radial surface that is formed in a helical manner that conforms to the helix angle of helical teeth. A die set for forming the helical sector gear and a related method are also provided.
