DIE FOR A PIPE THREADER
A die for a pipe threading operation includes a body portion formed of a first material, and a tooth portion coupled to the body portion and formed of a second material that is different than the first material. The tooth portion having a plurality of teeth.
MODULAR CUTTING TOOL BODY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A cutting tool body includes a first member and a second member, both having a substantially cylindrical shape, and arranged such that a tool body central axis coincides with a central axis of each of the first and the second members. The first member has a tool characteristic of a first magnitude and the second member has the tool characteristic of a second magnitude, different from the first magnitude. The cutting tool body includes a transition member arranged between the first and second members and connected at a first end to the first member and at a second end to the second member. The tool characteristic in the transition member is of the first magnitude at the first end and of the second magnitude at the second end. The transition member has a transition region between the first and the second ends in which the tool characteristic transforms from the first magnitude to the second magnitude.
THREADED CUTTER FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A THREAD
The invention relates to a thread milling cutter for manufacturing an internal thread, wherein the thread milling cutter has at least one section with multiple teeth, wherein a pitch is arranged between every two adjacent teeth, wherein the predominant number of pitches corresponds to a desired pitch and there is at least one pitch that deviates from the desired pitch.
The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing an external thread on a component or an internal thread in a component, wherein, in one step, a thread milling cutter according to the invention is advanced into the wall of the component and in another step, the thread milling cutter is moved along the extent of the wall once and in this way is moved in the axial direction by one lead of a thread turn.

Insert type tool and thread mill
An insert portion (3) of a thread mill (1A) is fixed to a leading end portion of a body (2A) using screws (8). The insert portion (3) is configured by overlaying an insert (4) for finish machining and an insert (5) for rough machining. On respective mating faces of the inserts (4, 5), convex portions and concave portions of the mating face of the insert (4) are overlaid with concave portions and convex portions of the mating face of the insert (5). The thread mill (1A) can cut a female screw in a hole formed in a workpiece by performing right-hand cut down-cut milling, for example. The inserts (4, 5) simultaneously cut an inner peripheral surface of the hole, and the rough machining and the finish machining can thus be performed in a single pass. By the convex portions and the concave portions of the respective mating faces of the inserts (4, 5) being overlaid with each other, the inserts (4, 5) partially overlap in their respective thickness directions. As a result, a protrusion length of the insert portion (3) can be shortened.

Indexable thread forming tap
An indexable thread forming tap including: a body in a shaft shape; and a tip concentrically and detachably attached to a leading end portion of the body by screw-fastening and rotationally driven around an axial center along with the body for rolling of a female thread, the body being disposed with a screw hole concentrically to the axial center such that a screw shaft disposed on the tip concentrically to the axial center is screwed into the screw hole for the screw-fastening, a leading end surface of the screw shaft being pressed against a bottom surface of the screw hole into close contact with each other by the screw-fastening to integrally fix the tip to the body without the leading end of the body abutting on the tip, the body being disposed with a restraining hole concentrically to the axial center.
