Bolt and method of manufacturing the same

A bolt includes a head portion on which a recess is formed. The recess has a bottom surface and a sidewall extending from a periphery of the bottom surface. The sidewall has a lower end defined by the bottom surface and includes an increased diameter portion and a reduced diameter portion. The increased diameter portion has an inner diameter larger than an inner diameter of the lower end of the side wall. The reduced diameter portion has an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the increased diameter portion. The reduced diameter portion is located opposite to the bottom surface across the increased diameter portion.

PIPE THREADER

A pipe threader includes a housing, an electric motor, a battery, a die holder, and a die locking mechanism. The die locking mechanism receives torque from the electric motor and rotates as a result. A cutting die is received in the die holder and the locking mechanism rotationally locks the cutting die in the die holder. The locking mechanism includes a first lock ring and a second lock ring. The pipe threader includes a drive assembly including an electric motor, a multi-stage planetary transmission that receives torque from the motor, and a worm drive that receives torque from the transmission. The pipe threader includes an inertial measurement unit and an electronic processer. The processor receives data from the inertial measurement unit, generates a relative position of the pipe threader by applying a Kalman filter, determining whether the relative position exceeds a threshold, and decreases the motor speed in response.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR MACHINE TOOL

A control device for a machine tool in which a tool used to machine a workpiece is mounted to a main spindle that is relatively movable with respect to the workpiece. The control device includes: a parameter preparing unit that stores a predetermined parameter regarding a control in advance; an evacuation unit that causes the tool to perform an evacuation operation from the workpiece; and a chip discharging unit that causes the tool to perform a chip discharging operation. The evacuation operation of the tool by the evacuation unit and the chip discharging operation by the chip discharging unit are performable at respective predetermined timings.

A tool diagnostic device includes a data acquisition unit configured to acquire, as waveform data, a state quantity of a motor for driving a tool before and after rotation of the tool stops in tapping, a reference waveform generation unit configured to generate reference waveform data, a difference waveform calculation unit configured to calculate, as difference waveform data, a difference between waveform data and the reference waveform data, a waveform feature calculation unit configured to calculate waveform feature data indicating a feature of a waveform from the difference waveform data, a learning result storage unit configured to store a learning result of learning a correlation between waveform feature data and a tool life, and a state diagnostic unit configured to diagnose a state of the tool based on the waveform feature data using a learning result.

Pipe threading or cutting device

A modification system for the modification of elongated pieces of stock may include a powered tool for modifying, or altering the piece of elongated stock, and a support device for supporting a position of the elongated stock relative to the powered tool. An arrangement of the components of the powered tool may provide for ergonomic balance of the powered tool. The support device may include a clamping device that clamps, or holds the elongated stock, and an adjustment device that adjusts a position of the clamping device based on a size of the elongated stock. The support device may include a latching device that maintains the position of the clamping device relative to the stock. A reaction arm may inhibit rotation of the tool relative to the stock during operation. A biasing device may provide for application of an axial biasing force on the stock, to initiate operation.

POWER TOOL FOR FORMING THREADS

A power tool for forming threads includes a tool housing with a motor housing portion having a first handle, a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery, a motor housing portion with a motor, a transmission housing portion with a transmission, and an operating head portion arranged along a tool axis. A cutting head is at least partially received in the operating head portion and rotates about a rotational axis transverse to the tool axis to form threads in a workpiece. A second handle is coupled to the operating head or the tool housing adjacent the operating head. When power is applied to the motor, the motor rotates and the transmission transmits torque from the motor to rotate the cutting head. A center of gravity of the power tool is positioned at a portion of the tool housing substantially aligned with the second handle.
