METHOD OF MANUFACTURING TERMINAL-FORMED ELECTRIC WIRE
A method of manufacturing a terminal-formed electric wire includes a welding member placing process in which at least one welding member formed of metal having a melting point lower than that of a plurality of metal strands included in a core wire is arranged to the core wire of at least a terminal-forming target portion of the electric wire, and a terminal forming process in which the exposed terminal-forming target portion is interposed between first and second electrodes having a shape corresponding to a desired terminal shape, at least the welding member in the terminal-forming target portion is melted by electrically conducting the first and second electrodes while pressing the terminal-forming target portion with the first and second electrodes, and the melted metal is then solidified, so that the terminal-forming target portion is formed as a terminal portion having a desired terminal shape.
Resistance spot welding thin gauge steels
Resistance spot welding of a thin-gauge steel workpiece to another steel workpiece is achieved through the combined use of specific spot welding electrodes and a pulsating welding current. Each of the spot welding electrodes has a weld face that is smaller in diameter than a typical steel spot welding electrode. And the pulsating welding current that is used in conjunction with the smaller-sized spot welding electrodes includes at least two stages of electrical current pulses.
Bonding system for dual walled turbine components
A bonding system is used for bonding a cover sheet to a core to form or repair a dual wall structure. The bonding system includes a plurality of bonding probes and controller circuitry. The bonding probes include a three dimensional (3D) contoured tip configured to align with a predetermined area of a 3D contoured cover sheet of a dual wall structure. The controller circuitry comprises processor circuitry and sensor circuitry. The sensor circuitry provides a location of an area of the 3D contoured cover sheet for bonding. The processor circuitry identifies a bonding probe having a contacting area that aligns with the 3D contour of the cover sheet in the location provided by the sensor circuitry.
METHOD OF RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING AND RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING APPARATUS
A method of resistance spot welding that enables an improvement of a weld strength of steel plates having different plate thicknesses while inhibiting generation of spatters is provided. One aspect of the present disclosure is the method of resistance spot welding, the method including welding a workpiece made of layered steel plates with a resistance spot welding apparatus. The resistance spot welding apparatus includes a first electrode configured to contact a first steel plate among the steel plates, and a second electrode configured to contact, among the steel plates, a second steel plate that is thinner than the first steel plate, and the second electrode being arranged such that the workpiece is interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The welding includes welding while moving the second electrode relative to the first electrode in a direction parallel with a plate surface of the second steel plate.

SPOT WELDING METHOD
A spot welding method wherein even in a sheet combination with a sheet thickness ratio of 5 or more where the metal sheet with the thinnest sheet thickness is arranged at the outermost surface, it is possible to use an easily electrically controlled, compact welding apparatus to perform spot welding forming a desired nugget diameter while suppressing spatter at the interface of the thin sheet/thick sheet is provided. A spot welding method comprising preparing a sheet combination with a sheet thickness ratio of 5 or more having a metal sheet having a thinnest sheet thickness arranged at an outermost surface, arranging a first electrode tip at the side where the thinnest metal sheet is placed, arranging a second electrode tip at the opposite side of the sheet combination, and arranging an insulating first pressure application member around the first electrode tip, and pressing the first and second electrode tips and the first pressure application member against the sheet combination to apply electrode force so that an electrode force applied from the first electrode tip to the sheet combination becomes smaller than the second electrode tip while running current between the first and second electrode tips to weld the sheet combination.
