Embodiments described herein are generally directed to a venturi valve. The venture valve includes an inlet; an outlet opposite of the inlet; a passage, a primary orifice, and an insert. The passage is positioned between the inlet and the outlet and fluidly coupling the inlet to the outlet. The primary orifice is positioned between the inlet and the outlet and in fluid communication with the passage such that the primary orifice permits fluid to enter the passage. The insert is positioned between the inlet and the outlet, the insert configured to enclose at least a portion of the passage.

A welding electrode may comprise a welding electrode body and a welding electrode cap that is connected or connectable to the welding electrode body for making contact between the welding electrode and a component for producing a welded connection. The problem of achieving an efficient heating of the sandwich sheet to be welded in a compact layout with the fewest possible modifications of the welding electrodes used heretofore is solved in that an electrically conductive resistance element integrated, or which can be integrated, in the welding electrode and which is connected or connectable in an electrically-conductive manner to the welding electrode body and the welding electrode cap is provided for the heating of the component. Furthermore, a method and a device with the welding electrode and a use are disclosed.

A method, apparatus, and system for stopping a flow of a liquid coolant into, and drawing away a residual portion of the liquid, a portion of a cooling system, e.g., for resistance welding electrodes. The disclosed system does not require more than a single actuator, and in one case uses only a single actuator, coupled to both i) one or more liquid shutoff valves and ii) one or more liquid drawback apparatus. The liquid drawback apparatus draws on the liquid at approximately a same time that the one or more liquid shutoff valves shut off the flow of the liquid from the coolant supply. The liquid drawback apparatus includes a non-return check valve, disposed in the fluid passageway and biased against a normal flow of the liquid from the coolant supply.

BONDING SYSTEM FOR DUAL WALLED TURBINE COMPONENTS

A system is for bonding a cover sheet to a core to form or repair a dual wall structure. The system includes a cover sheet probe and an inner pedestal probe. A three dimensional contoured tip of the cover sheet probe abuts against a three dimensional contoured outer surface of the cover sheet opposite a pedestal of the core. The pedestal abuts the inner surface of the cover sheet. The inner pedestal probe may be coupled to the core to create a conductive electrical path from the cover sheet probe through at least part of the structure. A flow of electric power is controlled and supplied to the cover sheet probe to heat a junction between the area of the cover sheet abutting the pedestal and the pedestal. A heated area is created in the junction and fixedly couples the coversheet and the pedestal.

A welding electrode is disclosed that includes an electrode welding shell and a blind adapter that are joined together to cooperatively define an internal cavity. The electrode welding shell and the blind adapter may be integrally formed or they may be distinct components that are attached together. The presence of the internal cavity defined by the electrode welding shell and the blind adapter reduces the thermal mass of the welding electrode and slows the rate of conductive heat transfer from the weld face to a cooling fluid, which allows in the center of the weld face to retain heat for a longer duration once current flow through the welding electrode is terminated, thereby positively affecting the spot welding process for particular types of workpiece stack-ups including those that include an aluminum workpiece and an overlapping adjacent steel workpiece.
