Weld wheel cleaning system
A weld wheel cleaning system is provided to clean or remove a layer of embedded material and other debris produced from welding from the working surface of a weld wheel. Such a weld wheel cleaning system includes a cleaner with an abrasive material positioned on an outer surface of the cleaner. The cleaner is positionable adjacent to the weld wheel such that the abrasive material is aligned with the working surface of the weld wheel. An actuator can be used to selectively actuate the cleaner with a force sufficient to remove the layer of embedded material from the working surface of the weld wheel with the abrasive material. The debris from the cleaner can be removed by a vacuum.
DUAL PASS, DUAL ANNEAL WELDING METHOD FOR JOINING HIGH STRENGTH STEELS
A dual pass seam welding method for steels having a Ceq of greater than about 0.45. The first pass welds the immediately anneals the weld. On the second pass, the welder is disengaged, and the weld is subjected to a second anneal.
WELDING ELECTRODE AND USE OF THE WELDING ELECTRODE
The invention relates to a welding electrode for resistance welding, formed by a welding tool made of a metal, the welding tool having a contact surface that comes into contact with the workpiece to be welded. In order to avoid adhesion between the contact surface and a workpiece made, in particular of aluminum, it is suggested in the invention that the contact surface is made of diamond doped with boron.
Electrode orientation checking apparatus and electrode orientation checking method
An electrode orientation checking apparatus includes a machine stand attached to a seam welding apparatus from which one roller electrode of a set has been removed, a positioning guide and a set of distance sensors that are provided on the machine stand, and a calculating section. A positioning surface of the positioning guide is fixed at a position corresponding to a portion of an outer circumferential surface of the one roller electrode before being removed, the portion lying on a line segment connecting rotational centers of the roller electrodes. The distance sensors are respectively fixed forward and backward of the positioning surface in a progression direction of the roller electrodes. The calculating section calculates data for acquiring a direction of the line segment relative to the stacked body.

Seam welding method for vehicle door sash
Seam welding is performed by clamping a coupling portion of an upper sash with a first roller electrode and a second roller electrode, and applying electricity while rotating first roller electrode and the second roller electrode. The first roller electrode includes a plurality of first projecting portions and second projecting portions that are at intervals in a circumferential direction around a first rotational center. The second roller electrode may include a plurality of first opposing projecting portions and second opposing projecting portions that are at intervals in a circumferential direction around a second rotational center, by clamping a coupling portion of an upper sash and applying electricity while rotating.

WELDING GUN AND WELDING METHOD
A welding gun includes first and second movable arms, and first and second welding electrodes. The first and second movable arms are movable upward and downward. The first and second welding electrode are disposed respectively on the first and second movable arms. The welding gun is capable of performing a first mode in which the first and second welding electrodes are brought into contact with one side of a workpiece to weld the workpiece, and a second mode in which the workpiece is sandwiched by the first and second welding electrodes to weld the workpiece. The first and second welding electrodes are pivotally supported by the first and second movable arms, respectively. Each of the first and second welding electrodes has a rotatable roller shape. The first movable arm includes a first slide mechanism configured to allow the first welding electrodes to slide to below the second welding electrode.
Shaping device for roller electrode for seam welding
Provided is a shaping device for a roller electrode for seam welding that prepares shapes for a first roller electrode and a second roller electrode attached to an arm of a robot. This shaping device is provided independently from the robot and disposed within rotational range of the arm, and is provided with a first roller and a second roller that are disposed on a line orthogonal to a line joining the rotational centers of the first and second roller electrodes and are in contact with the outer circumferences of the first and second roller electrodes.
Seam welding apparatus, seam welding method, robot control device, and robot control method
The seam welding apparatus includes a pair of rotating electrodes, an electrode supporting frame, a distance measuring means, and a controller. The electrode supporting frame supports the pair of rotating electrodes. The distance measuring means is provided on the electrode supporting frame and measures a distance to an edge of the steel plate. The controller controls the robot to adjust a running direction of the rotating electrodes so that a deviation comes into zero when a distance actually measured by the distance measuring means deviates from a predetermined distance. Thereby, it is accomplished that the seam welding apparatus is downsized as well as uninfluenced by the surface state and/or shape of workpiece (steel plate).
