Systems for surface decommissioning of wells
There are provided high power laser systems for performing decommissioning of structures in land based boreholes, and wells, offshore, and other remote and hazardous locations, and using those system to perform decommissioning operations. In particular embodiments the laser system is a Class I system and reduces emission of materials created during laser cutting operations. The laser systems can include lifting and removal equipment for removing laser sectioned material.
Pipe fitting incorporating a spherical spin weld
A two-piece connection between a supply pipe from a source of water and a connection to a fire sprinkler with the connector having a first or rear section entirely above a ceiling and a second or front section connected to the first section with the connection entirely above a ceiling and the forward portion of second section connected to the fire sprinkler. The first connector section, located entirely above a ceiling, has a spherical male sidewall with a rounded leading edge and a rear portion of the second connector section has a spherical female interior surface.
WELDING METHOD OF BATTERY COVER PLATE
A welding method of a battery cover plate includes performing at least two times of continuous welding along a connecting zone between a cover plate and a shell, and adjusting laser welding power, welding speeds, and defocusing amounts. Welding power of a first continuous welding is less than welding power of a second continuous welding. An amount of deformation of the shell is less than or equal to 0.6 mm after the first continuous welding, and the amount of deformation of the shell is less than or equal to 1.0 mm after the second continuous welding.
COLORED DIRECT LASER MARKING ON TIRE
A motor vehicle tire includes a sidewall having an inner layer of a first color and an outer layer adjacent the inner layer. The outer layer is of a second color different from the first color. The outer layer has a plurality of throughholes that visually expose the inner layer. The throughholes are in a pattern that encodes information about a history of the motor vehicle tire and/or a unique identifier
Method for manufacturing solenoid sleeve
A non-magnetic member, a first magnetic member and a second magnetic member are prepared. The first magnetic member and the second magnetic member are connected to the non-magnetic member. Then, a first bonding portion which bonds the non-magnetic member and the first magnetic member to each other, and a second bonding portion which bonds the non-magnetic member and the second magnetic member to each other are formed. A hot isostatic pressing process is performed to the non-magnetic member, the first magnetic member and the second magnetic member to establish diffusion-bond. Thereafter, the non-magnetic member, the first magnetic member and the second magnetic member are hollowed, and the first bonding portion and the second bonding portion are removed. Thereafter, the non-magnetic member becomes a non-magnetic body, the first magnetic member becomes a first magnetic body, the second magnetic member becomes a second magnetic body and a sleeve is obtained.
FRICTION STIR WELDING TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A friction stir welding tool, which includes a pin and a shoulder rigidly connected to the pin, for welding components composed of a parent material having a melting point of more than 900° C., in particular steel. To achieve a particularly long service life of the tool even with thick-walled components, it is provided that the shoulder is at least partially composed of a first material and the pin is at least partially composed of a second material. Furthermore, the shoulder is at least partially composed of a first: material and the pin is at least partially composed of a second material. In addition, a method for joining components of one or more parent materials having a melting temperature of more than 900° C. is provided.
Work String Tubing Connection Restoration
A hardfacing metal composition and method of restoring worn work string tubing by application of a hardfacing metal to the worn regions of the work string tubing.
GAS SHIELD ARC WELDING METHOD AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING STEEL PIPE
A gas shield arc welding method that reduces the number of joints, which are the sites where defects occur more readily, and that enables automatic welding with a welding robot. A gas shield arc welding method in which a steel pipe Wo is welded by multi-pass welding with a steel frame erection adjusting tool attached to an erection piece on the steel pipe Wo to immobilize an open end section of the steel pipe. An initial single or several layers are welded to the open end section, after welding, the steel frame erection adjusting tool is removed; and remaining layers are welded with a welding robot such that two bead joints are formed at no more than two sites.
