METHOD FOR PREPARING AN ANTICORROSIVE SURFACE LAYER OF A METAL MATERIAL IN A MARINE ENVIRONMENT BY LASER
The invention discloses a method for preparing an anticorrosive surface layer of a metal material in a marine environment by laser, which belongs to the technical field of laser processing. First, the laser cladding method is used to prepare a cladding surface layer on the surface of the metal material that is not easy to undergo chemical substitution reaction with the chlorides (NaCl, MgCl.sub.2 , CaCl.sub.2 etc.) in the seawater. Then, on the surface of the cladding surface layer, ultrafast laser processing is used to form a surface layer with a wetting angle (and water) greater than 90 degrees and with hydrophobic characteristics. The anti-corrosion surface layer obtained by the invention has hydrophobic properties, the high humidity and high salt water vapor and marine organisms in the marine environment are not easy to adhere, and the anti-corrosion surface layer is stable in salt water resistance, and is not easy to undergo chemical substitution reaction with chlorides in seawater (NaCl, MgCl.sub.2 , CaCl.sub.2 etc.), which can achieve high-efficiency anti-corrosion of metal materials in the marine environment.
Laser welding steel to ductile iron
A method of laser welding a steel substrate and a ductile iron substrate is disclosed along with a laser welded assembly that may be formed by practicing the disclosed method. The disclosed laser welding method involves forming a laser weld joint between the steel and ductile iron substrates. The laser weld joint includes a fusion zone comprised of austenite ferrous alloy that has a composition derived from intermixing molten portions of the steel and ductile iron substrates as part of the laser welding process. The austenite ferrous alloy that constitutes the fusion zone of the laser weld joint has a carbon content of 2 wt % or more and a nickel equivalent of 60% or more and can be achieved without preheating the steel and ductile iron substrates prior to welding or using a filler wire to introduce a foreign metal into the molten substrate material created by the laser beam.
Method for manufacturing joined member and apparatus for manufacturing the same
To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a joined member that inhibit occurrence of cracks in a joined member even when the joined portion is quenched when members are welded together. The method includes placing the first member D and the second member E with a joint target portion Df and a joint target portion Ef being in contact with each other, welding the joint target portions by heating, subjecting the first member D after the welding to a process for inhibiting occurrence of cracks, and tempering a portion where the first and second members have been welded to each other by electromagnetic heating. The apparatus includes a first electrode 11 to contact with the first member D; a second electrode 12 to contact with the second member E; and an induction heating coil 23 for performing induction heating of a portion where a joint target portions Df and Ef have been contacted and joined to each other, and the induction heating coil 23 is placed between the two electrodes 11 and 12 when the induction heating is performed.
Orbital Friction Surfacing of Remanufactured Cast-Iron Components
The method of orbital friction surfacing of components using a consumable solid tool comprises rotating the consumable featureless solid tool, plunging the tool toward a component until a desired spindle force is attained, and moving the component relative to the tool to lay down a deposition of material.
Welded assemblies and methods of making welded assemblies
A welded assembly includes a first sheet and a second sheet. The second sheet is disposed over a portion of the first sheet and defines an overlap portion between the first and second sheets. A weld fastening the second sheet to the first sheet in the overlap area connects the second sheet to the first sheet for distributing stress uniformly across a welded portion of the overlap area.
ELECTRICAL BONDING METHOD AND ELECTRICAL BONDING APPARATUS
To bond bonding target members stacked on top of each other without generating dust or spatter into an electrically bonded article with improved mechanical strength against strong vibration etc. A first bonding target member or second bonding target member includes a relative displacement amount setting portion for setting the distance by which the bonding target portion of the first member and the bonding target portion of the second member are relatively displaced during bonding, and a current conduction suppressing layer is formed on the relative displacement amount setting portion. The second or first member includes a setting face that is placed opposed to the current conduction suppressing layer of the first or second member. In a state where the first and second members have been positioned, the distance between the current conduction suppressing layer and the setting face is equal to the width H of the bonded portion.
BONDED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BONDED ARTICLE
A method for manufacturing a bonded article having long bonding length and high strength. A first bonding target member and a second bonding target member having a hole portion for receiving the first member are provided. Pressing force is applied between the two members with the first member received in the hole portion, and a current is applied to a bonding target portion between the two members with the pressing force applied. The two members are of materials with different melting points. One of the two members, having lower melting point, has a heat capacity increasing portion in the vicinity of the target portion. The one of the members has a taper face at the target portion, and the heat capacity increasing portion has a face extending from the taper face. The force applying step is performed with the other member positioned not to contact the heat capacity increasing portion.
BRAKE DISK AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BRAKE DISK
A method for producing a brake disk for a wheel brake of a land vehicle includes laser depositing a duplex steel anti-corrosion layer to an axial friction side of a main body produced from gray cast iron at a surface speed of more than 10 m/min and applying an anti-abrasion layer to the anti-corrosion layer.
