Overmolded tubing assembly and adapter for a positive displacement pump

A tubing assembly is provided that can comprise a plurality of tubes or lumens that can be disposed within a head of a peristaltic pump. The tubing assembly can provide a flow rate or volume capacity that is generally equal to or greater than that achieved with a comparable prior art tube while operating at higher pressures than that possible using the prior art tube. Further, in accordance with some embodiments, the tubing assembly can achieve a longer working life than a comparable prior art tube, and the load on the pump motor can be reduced such that the pump life is increased and/or a larger pump motor is not required to achieve such advantageous results.

Systems and methods for low-manganese welding alloys

Systems and methods for low-manganese welding alloys are disclosed. An example arc welding consumable may comprise: less than 0.4 wt % manganese; strengthening agents selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, copper, carbon, molybdenum, chromium, vanadium, silicon, and boron; and grain control agents selected from the group consisting of niobium, tantalum, titanium, zirconium, and boron. The grain control agents may comprise greater than 0.06 wt % and less than 0.6 wt % of the welding consumable. The resulting weld deposit may comprise a tensile strength greater than or equal to 70 ksi, a yield strength greater than or equal to 58 ksi, a ductility (as measured by percent elongation) of at least 22%, and a Charpy V-notch toughness greater than or equal to 20 ft-lbs at −20° F. The welding consumable may provide a manganese fume generation rate less than 0.01 grams per minute during the arc welding operation.

Method for Producing a Friction Brake Body

A method is disclosed for producing a friction brake body, in particular a brake disc, which has a main part with a frictional contact region. A wear protection layer is produced on the frictional contact region by way of laser cladding using a laser beam oriented towards the frictional contact region. The wear protection layer is produced by at least one pulverulent additive during the laser cladding. At least two pulverulent additives are added simultaneously such that the dwell time thereof in the laser beam differs.

Techniques and assemblies for joining components using solid retainer materials

The disclosure describes example techniques and assemblies for joining a first component and a second component. The techniques may include positioning the first and second component adjacent to each other to define a joint region between adjacent portions of the first component and the second component. The techniques may also include inserting a solid retainer material into the joint region through an aperture in one of the first component or the second component to form a mechanical interlock between the first component and the second component and sealing the aperture to retain the solid retainer material within the joint region. The solid retainer material includes at least one of a metal, a metal alloy, or a ceramic.

Nickel-containing stick electrode

A metal-cored electrode for welding to form a weld bead on a ferrous material, which weld bead includes at least 35 wt. % nickel. The metal-cored electrode includes a metal sheath surrounding a core. The core includes greater than 35 wt. % nickel.

MIG WELDING METHOD

A MIG welding method for carbon steels using an Ar shielding gas. The method includes short-circuiting a welding wire and a base material. The average short-circuiting frequency in welding is 20 Hz to 300 Hz and the maximum short-circuiting period is 1.5 s or less.

Laminated molding and method of manufacturing laminated molding

An additively manufactured object formed by depositing weld bead layers, each of the weld bead layers being obtained by melting and solidifying a filler metal made of a mild steel, the additively manufactured object includes a plurality of the weld bead layers having a ferrite phase with an average grain diameter of 11 μm or less in a part except for a surface oxide film.

A method for making a bonded metal piece, including (a) obtaining a first piece of stock metal comprising a first surface and a second piece of the stock metal comprising a second surface; (b) smoothing the first surface so as to form a first contact surface and smoothing the second surface so as to form a second contact surface; (c) cleaning the first contact surface and the second contact surface; (d) loading the first piece and the second piece into a furnace; and (e) bonding the first piece to the second piece so as to form a bonded metal piece comprising the first contact surface diffusion bonded to the second contact surface. The bonding includes (i) heating the first piece and the second piece to a temperature below a superplastic forming temperature of the stock metal; and (ii) applying a pressure comprising pressing the first contact surface and the second contact surface together while the first piece and the second piece are at the temperature. In one or more examples, the bonded metal piece is machined (without forging or working into shape) into an aircraft part.

Welding device and welding method

A welding system includes a welding torch that welds a workpiece by using a wire, a suction device that sucks shielding gas, and a sucked shielding gas supply path for allowing the sucked shielding gas to flow, wherein the welding torch includes a contact chip that guides the wire, a shielding gas supply nozzle that supplies the shielding gas to a weld zone, and a suction nozzle that surrounds a periphery of the wire protruding from the contact chip, and is opened toward a tip of the wire to suck the shielding gas.
