ABRASIVE TOOL HAVING A BRAZE JOINT WITH INSOLUBLE PARTICLES
Multi-part abrasive tools are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an abrasive tool includes a first body, a second body, and a braze layer that couples the first body to the second body. The braze layer includes a braze alloy having a liquidus temperature and insoluble particles at least partially surrounded by the braze alloy. The insoluble particles are insoluble with the braze alloy at temperatures at least 100° C. above the liquidus temperature of the braze alloy.
PRINTABLE SURFACE TREATMENT FOR ALUMINUM BONDING
Compositions and methods for coupling metals to aluminum surfaces are provided. The compositions are prepared as aqueous solutions or suspensions, and can be applied to the aluminum surface using conventional printing techniques. Rheology of the printable composition can be adjusted to provide a gel or a cream. Curing steps, if necessary, are performed at low temperatures that are compatible with plastic/polymer components of mass produced devices, such as aluminum RFID antennae.
SOLDER COMPOSITION AND ELECTRONIC BOARD
A solder composition of the invention includes: a flux composition containing a component (A) in a form of a rosin-based resin, a component (B) in a form of an activator, a component (C) in a form of a solvent and a component (D) in a form of a thixotropic agent; and a component (E) in a form of a solder powder. The component (C) in a form of the solvent contains a component (C1) in a form of a isobornyl cyclohexanol and a component (C2) in a form of a solvent whose viscosity at 20 degrees C. is 10 mPa.Math.s or less and whose boiling point ranges from 220 degrees C. to 245 degrees C.
Method for joining metal parts
A method for joining a first metal part with a second metal part, the metal parts having a solidus temperature above 1100° C., includes applying a melting depressant composition on a surface of the first metal part, the melting depressant composition including a melting depressant component that includes at least 25 wt % boron and silicon for decreasing a melting temperature of the first metal part; bringing the second metal part into contact with the melting depressant composition at a contact point on said surface; heating the first and second metal parts to a temperature above 1100° C.; and allowing a melted metal layer of the first metal component to solidify, such that a joint is obtained at the contact point. The boron at least partly originates from a boron compound selected from any of the following compounds: boric acid, borax, titanium diboride and boron nitride. The melting depressant composition and related products are also described.
FLUX, METHOD FOR APPLYING FLUX, AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING SOLDER BALL
Provided is flux that can be discharged using an inkjet method and that is capable of bonding to an adherend after application. This flux includes 5-50 mass % of a solid solvent having a melting point of 60° C. or less, 50-80 mass % of a solvent, 5-10 mass % of an organic acid, 10-30 mass % of an amine, and 0-5 mass % of a halide, the flux forming a liquid having a high viscosity of 5 Pa.Math.s or higher at 25° C., and forming a liquid having a low viscosity of 50 mPa.Math.s or less at 100° C.
BRAZING PASTE
A brazing paste contain a brazing material in an amount of 80% by mass or more and 95% by mass or less; and a binder in an amount of 5% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less. The brazing material contains a flux in an amount of 2% by mass or more and 5% by mass or less. The binder contains a solid solvent containing two or more hydroxyl groups and having 8 to 10 carbon atoms, and a liquid solvent. When the binder does not contain a thixotropic agent, the liquid solvent is contained in an amount of 68% by mass or more with respect to a total of the binder, and when the binder contains a thixotropic agent, the thixotropic agent is contained in an amount of 11% by mass or less with respect to a total of the binder.
