Ambient Oxygen Concentrating Torch
20180009049 · 2018-01-11 ·

An ambient oxygen concentrating torch has an oxygen concentrating unit disposed in operational communication with a second compressor whereby oxygen is sourced from the ambient atmosphere by Pressure Swing Adsorption and producible for pressurization and storage interior to a pressure tank. Controlled release of the stored oxygen is thereby enabled for combination with a hydrocarbon to effect combustion and production of a high-temperature flame as used in welding and cutting. Because oxygen is sourced from the ambient environment, and is continuously producible therefrom, need of separate oxygen canisters is entirely obviated.

A heating system for drill steel pipe billet includes a feedback device configured to control distances d.sub.1 and d.sub.2 of three flamethrowers, a propulsion device, a positioning device, a heating device, a temperature measuring device and a conveying device. Heating temperature of the flamethrowers is controlled by an oxygen distribution box and a gas distribution box. A heating method for the drill steel pipe billet is also provided, in which a rolling forming method of gradient flame heating is adopted to control density of the rolled pieces and avoid internal defects of the drill steel caused by the same deformation of the traditional uniformly heated pipe billets. A radial temperature of the drill steel pipe billet is accurately controlled through the feedback device. Only one set of flamethrowers corresponding to drill steel pipe billets of different dimensions is required, and other devices are universal components, which will not be replaced.

METHOD FOR MONITORING A FLAME CUTTING PROCESS

A method for monitoring a flame cutting process includes a preheating phase, a piercing phase following the preheating phase and a cutting phase following the piercing phase, wherein a cutting torch applies a flame generated by combustion of a gas mixture to an electrically conductive workpiece and wherein an electric current flowing between an electrically conductive part of the cutting torch and the workpiece is measured by a current measuring device during a measuring period. An ignition point at which piercing of a hole through the workpiece using the flame starts due to oxidation of the workpiece is detected by a change in the measured current.

Systems and methods for shaping and cutting materials
11548180 · 2023-01-10 ·

Systems and methods suitable for shaping and cutting materials. Such a system includes first and second carriage units that are independently operable to travel in a travel direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of a table supporting the material. The first and second carriage units have first and second arms, respectively. A cutting device coupled to the first arm forms a slit in the material, and a deburring device coupled to the second arm forcibly removes burrs from the slit. The deburring device is behind the cutting device relative to the travel direction and forcibly removes burrs in the travel direction toward a breakthrough point of the slit. The second carriage unit oscillates parallel to the travel direction so that the deburring device moves toward and away from the breakthrough point of the slit to remove burrs at the breakthrough point.

Cutting torch guide structures, systems, and kits include a base structure having a bottom surface and a channel formed in the base structure, a mechanically switched permanent magnet coupled to the base structure and configured to mechanically switch between two magnetic states, and a cutting torch guide structure configured to be releasably received in the channel and magnetically coupled to the base structure by magnetic attraction between a at least one permanent magnet fixed in at least one recess in the channel and a guide structure permanent magnet fixed to the cutting torch guide structure, where the cutting torch guide structure is configured with a first portion that is removable received in the channel of the base structure and a second portion that overhangs the base structure and includes an edge that defines a predefined shape and is configured to be in slidable contact with a cutting torch tip.

Silent entry torching and oxygen delivery system and configuration

A system for performing exothermic operations or oxygen delivery uses a rod and handle configuration to create a flowpath of oxygen. The rod includes cables having stainless steel fibers that burn using the oxygen within a hollow center area. While burning, the rod cuts through material. A sheath covers the covers to contain the gases and prevent unraveling of the cables. The handle attaches to the rod and provides control of the flow of oxygen to the rod. A manifold fixing in place bottles of oxygen connects to the handle and can be fixed to provide different mixtures from different bottles. The rod is disconnected when needed to fix a mask thereto for delivering breathable oxygen to a patient.
