The welding power supply is configured to sample a plurality of weld parameters during a sampling period of the welding operation and form an analysis packet, and process the analysis packet to generate a weld quality score, wherein the welding power supply obtains the weave frequency or the weave period and automatically adjusts the sampling period for forming the analysis packet based on the weave frequency or the weave period.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WELDING A WELD SEAM
Welding A welding apparatus is provided for welding a weld seam, in particular a root weld seam, with a reversing welding wire the advancing rate, V.sub.D, of which is automatically reduced to a specified minimum rate value, V.sub.Dmin, by a controller of the welding apparatus if no short-circuit, KS, is detected during an arcing phase within a specific time period, Δt, or within a specific extension, Δs, of the welding wire.
Control method for MIG/MAG-welding and welding equipment applying this method
The present invention refers to a control method and welding equipment for MIG/MAG-welding with presence of short-circuiting droplets between an electrode end and a workpiece. The method comprises establishment of a short-circuiting time, establishment of an arc time, and controlling the energy supplied to the electrode. The energy supply is controlled in such a way that the energy supply is increased if a measured short-circuiting time of a total period time, where the period time is the sum of the short-circuiting time and the arc time, exceeds a defined adjustable set value and decreases if said short-circuiting percentage goes below said set value.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS PROVIDING COORDINATED DUAL POWER OUTPUTS SUPPORTING A SAME WELDING OR AUXILIARY POWER PROCESS
Embodiments of welding systems and methods with coordinated dual power outputs supporting a same welding process or a same AC output process are disclosed. One embodiment of a welding system includes an engine and a generator operatively connected to the engine, where the engine is configured to drive the generator to produce electrical input power. The welding system also includes a power supply operatively connected to the generator and having at least one controller. The power supply is configured to convert the electrical input power to form two power outputs that are coordinated with each other, at least in time, via the controller to support a same welding process. The same welding process may be, for example, a hotwire welding process, a tandem metal inert gas (MIG) welding process, or an alternating current (AC) output process.
Modular direct current power source
A modular direct current power source is provided. One welding power supply system includes a plurality of hysteretic buck converters coupled in parallel. The hysteretic buck converters are configured to receive a common input and to provide combined output power to a common load based upon the common input.
REDUCTION OF DROPLET SIZE FOR CO2 SHIELDED WELDING WIRE

Two fluxed cored welding wire electrodes are connected to the power source and are powered by the same welding output voltage and current produced by the power source. A feedback circuit is connected to the power source to provide an adaptive response to maintain an average welding output voltage. The controller controls the waveform generator and the power supply to superimpose welding current pulses onto a welding waveform of a CV flux cored arc welding process, that uses CO.sub.2 as a shielding gas, to generate a modified waveform of a modified CV flux cored arc welding process. The current pulses are superimposed in time to form molten metal droplets between ends of the two electrodes during the modified welding process.
