MULTIPLE INPUT WELDING VISION SYSTEM
Welding headwear comprises one or more image sensors, processing circuitry, and a display. The image sensor(s) are operable to capture an image of an unpowered weld torch as the torch passes along a joint of a workpiece to be welded. The processing circuitry is operable to: determine, through processing of pixel data of the image, one or more welding parameters as the torch passes along the joint to be welded; generate, based on the one or more welding parameters, a simulated weld bead; and superimpose on the image, in real time as the torch passes along the joint, the simulated weld bead on the joint. The display is operable to present, in real time as the torch passes along the joint, the image with the simulated bead overlaid on it.
Device and method of controlling welding helmet
Provided is a welding helmet control device comprising: a welding sensor or a light sensor configured to detect presence and intensity of welding light; a controller configured to count presence, intensity, and elapsed time of welding light, detected by the welding sensor or the light sensor, and to determine welding intensity, weld time, resting time, and weld number; a memory configured to store the welding intensity, the weld time, the resting time, and the weld number; a display configured to display the welding intensity, the weld time, the resting time, and the weld number, stored in the memory; a shutter driver configured to drive a shutter liquid crystal display (LCD) to vary a darkness concentration under control of the controller; and a setting unit configured to receive a setting value and a manipulation command, set by a user, and to transmit the received information to the controller.
Digital display welding mask with HDR imaging
A display system for a welding helmet that includes a darkening filter layer, a high-dynamic range (HDR) camera system to capture an HDR light field, and an optical image stabilization subsystem. Captured images are displayed on an HDR electronic display within the welding helmet without risk of overexposure of ultraviolet radiation to the operator. In some examples, dual electronic displays are used to display different HDR images to each eye of the operator.
Virtual markings in welding systems
Apparatus, systems, and/or methods are disclosed relating to welding systems that allow for virtual marking of welding workpieces. In some examples, a virtual marking process of the welding system generates and/or displays one or more markings on a display of the welding system in response to a dynamic input. In some examples, the dynamic input may comprise one or more of a user input received via a user interface, a marking instrument, and/or a welding gun of the welding system. In some examples, the dynamic input may comprise images captured by the welding system and recognized by the welding system as indicating markings. In some examples, the markings may guide an operator by indicating weld locations and/or weld order. In some examples, the markings may include embedded marking data (and/or metadata) that may be accessed and/or displayed to provide additional information and/or guidance to the operator.
Augmented vision system with active welder guidance
Welding headwear comprises a display operable to present images for viewing by a wearer of the welding headwear, and comprises circuitry operable to determine an identifier associated with a workpiece, retrieve, from memory, welding work instructions associated with the identifier, and generate the images for presentation on the display based on said work instructions.
WELDING INFORMATION PROVIDING APPARATUS
Provided is a welding information providing apparatus including a main body provided to be worn by a user, a display unit, which is arranged in the main body and includes a display for displaying a welding image to the user, a primary lens member, which is arranged on a path through which the welding image provided from the display travels, and includes a convex surface for adjusting a size of the welding image to allow the welding image to reach both eyes of the user, at least one camera, which is mounted on an outer side of the main body and is configured to obtain a welding image frame with respect to a welding operation, and a processor configured to control the display to display the welding image generated based on the welding image frame.
Electrodes for Gas- and Liquid-Cooled Plasma Torches
The invention relates to a method for conducting gas in a gas-cooled plasma torch wherein the plasma torch has a plasma torch body which holds an electrode with an open end and a closed end. A cavity extends from the open end in the direction of the closed end, and which, with a spacing in an axial direction, holds a nozzle by means of a nozzle holder. The nozzle has a central opening with an upstream inlet end, into which the electrode projects, and with an outlet end with a nozzle bore and is surrounded by a nozzle cap and/or a nozzle protection cap. The plasma torch body has an opening for a gas feeder, which opening is fluidically connected to a cooling tube which projects into the open end of the electrode.
Weld training systems and methods
An example weld training system includes: a weld training device configured to perform a simulated welding procedure on a simulated weld joint; a work surface comprising the simulated weld joint; a sensing device configured to track weld training device location information during the simulated welding procedure; a visual interface configured to display results of the simulated welding procedure based on the weld training device location information; and an enclosure comprising an interior volume configured to house within its interior the visual interface, the work surface, and the sensing device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF TRACKING A WELDING TOOL AND PROVIDING FEEDBACK
A welding system includes one or more sensing devices used to detect and/or determine a position and/or orientation of a welding tool (e.g., a welding torch). The welding tool may be tracked to determine (and/or calibrate) a shape of a welding joint and/or a path of the welding joint. The welding system may determine a virtual line representative of the welding joint.
