An apparatus and a method for attaching functional elements, e.g. composed of metal, to a component, in particular to a component comprising fiber-reinforced plastic, while using a setting head, wherein the functional element has a contact surface provided with adhesive and wherein the adhesive can be supplied to the setting head in individual depots adapted to the functional elements on a carrier band is characterized in that the functional elements are taken over by a guide device and are each pressable to an adhesive depot and are subsequently guidable with the adhering adhesive depots and separately from the carrier band in the setting head to the setting position in front of a setting die.
Clinching fastener press-fitting method and fastening jig for use in the press-fitting method
The press-fitting method for press-fitting a plurality of clinching fasteners into a workpiece. The method includes: a drilling step S1 of drilling press-fit holes at press-fitting positions of the workpiece to press-fit first clinching fasteners that are press-fitted from a punch side of a turret punch press by NC control using the turret punch press; a workpiece mounting step S2 of mounting the workpiece so that the workpiece is superposed on a fastening jig that guides the first clinching fasteners; a fastener insertion step S3 of inserting a predetermined number of the first clinching fasteners taken out from a screw feeder into the press-fit holes of the workpiece; a fastener press-fitting step S4 of press-fitting the first clinching fasteners into the press-fit holes of the workpiece by NC control using the turret punch press; and a workpiece removal step S5 of removing the workpiece from the fastening jig.
Self-punching functional element, component assembly, and method of manufacturing a component assembly
A self-punching functional element serves for the fastening to a workpiece and comprises a head part that has an abutment surface for introducing a punching force directed in a punching direction into the functional element and a rivet section that extends away from the head part in the punching direction and that comprises a free end that is provided with a first punching edge for punching a slug out of the workpiece. The functional element further comprises a functional section that has a punching pilot that is radially surrounded by the rivet section, that extends away from the head part in the punching direction, and that has a second punching edge for punching a hole into the slug. The second punching edge is set back with respect to the first punching edge in the punching direction.
FASTENING ELEMENT
The invention relates to a fastening element for fastening to a workpiece, said fastening element comprising at least a first workpiece element having a first opening and a second workpiece element having a second opening aligned with the first opening, wherein the fastening element has a first contact section having a first contact surface for contact with a region of the first workpiece element surrounding the first opening and a second contact section having a second contact surface for contact with a region of the second workpiece element surrounding the second opening, with the first contact section and the second contact section being connected to one another by means of a reshaping section, and with a rivet section extending from the second contact section in a direction facing away from the reshaping section. The invention further relates to a corresponding component assembly and to a method of manufacturing such a component assembly.
Apparatus for Fastening a Functional Element to a Section of a Workpiece
The present invention relates to an apparatus for fastening a functional element to a section of a workpiece and/or for reshaping a section of the workpiece, said apparatus comprising a support device for supporting the workpiece, wherein the workpiece section has a first surface facing the support device and a second surface facing away from the support device. The support device comprises a first support element having a first workpiece support surface that is associated with the first surface, and a second support element having a second workpiece support surface that faces away from the first workpiece support surface and that is associated with a supporting surface. The first and the second support element are movable relative to one another by means of a spreading device such that the first and the second workpiece support surface can be moved away from one another in an axial direction, in particular wherein the axial direction extends perpendicular to the first and/or second workpiece support surface.
DIFFERENT MATERIAL JOINING STRUCTURE AND DIFFERENT MATERIAL JOINING METHOD
A different material joining structure has: a first panel made of a first metal material; a second panel made of a second metal material that has a higher conductivity than that of the first panel, is different from the first metal material, and at least a part of which faces the first panel; and a rivet for joining the first panel and the second panel, wherein the rivet is made of the first material, and includes a head portion that is embedded in the second panel in a non-penetrating manner and a bottom portion that abuts on the first panel, and wherein a nugget portion as a joint portion is disposed between the first panel and the bottom portion, the nugget portion being formed by resistance welding the rivet to the first portion with the rivet disposed between the first panel and the second panel.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FIXING NUT TO INNER SURFACE OF PIPE MEMBER
A device for fixing a nut to an inner surface of a pipe member having a small inner diameter is provided. The device includes a unit box (10) to be inserted into the pipe member, a rotation shaft (11) extending from the unit box (10) to the outside of the pipe member, a cam fixed to the rotation shaft (11) in the unit box (10), and a nut holder (18) that advances from the unit box (10) toward the inner surface of the pipe member by the rotation of the cam. A pressure receiving member to be abutted on the inner surface of the pipe member is provided on an opposite surface of the nut holder (18).
