Machine tool including vibration restriction means
A machine tool includes: a cutting tool; rotating means; feeding means; and vibration means for reciprocatingly vibrating the cutting tool and the workpiece relative to each other; wherein the cutting process is carried out by a relative rotation of the workpiece and the cutting tool, and feeding of the cutting tool, to thereby move the cutting tool continuously along a plurality of predetermined movement paths each having a different machining feeding direction. The machine tool further includes vibration restriction means that operates as the movement of the cutting tool changes from one movement path of two consecutive movement paths to the other movement path, for restricting the reciprocating vibration for a predetermined period from the movement starting position of the movement paths, and starting the reciprocating vibration after the lapse of said predetermined period.

Method for capturing tool path and device thereof
A method for capturing a tool path, applicable to a machine tool having a controller and furnished with a tooling, includes the steps of: obtaining a data update frequency of the controller; calculating a feed rate of the controller, determining whether or not the feed rate is obtained, going to next step if positive, and going to the previous step if negative; reading G-codes of the controller to confirm the feed rate; and, based on the confirmed feed rate, recording machine coordinates transmitted from the controller for synthesizing a tool path file. The tool path file is used for simulation and analysis of machining of the machine tool. In addition, a device for capturing the tool path is also provided.

System for reprofiling a wheel set of a railway vehicle
A system for reprofiling a wheel set of a railway vehicle allows the center of rotation of the wheel set to move relative to supporting rollers. A cutting tool used to reprofile the wheel profile on a wheel set is moved relative to the center of rotation of the wheel set to maintain a constant distance between the center of rotation and the cutter. The rollers are maintained in a fixed position during the cutting process. The system avoids mechanically forcing a constant location of the wheel set relative to the center of rotation.

Method for cutting a groove-shaped recess into a workpiece
With a method for cutting a groove-shaped recess in a workpiece, a cutting tool for a machine tool is provided on a workpiece. The cutting tool is displaced into a cutting position, in which the cutting tool is in engagement with the workpiece. The cutting tool in engagement with the workpiece is displaced relative to the workpiece for cutting the groove-shaped recess. Upon cutting, a chip is produced with a predetermined maximum chip length that is less than a total length of the recess to be produced.

Control device and control method for controlling a machine tool
A control device for controlling a machine tool, wherein the machine tool and the control device are configured such that a tool and/or workpiece disposed on the machine tool can be moved with at least one first speed and at least one second speed. When switching from a movement with the first speed to a movement with the second speed, the tool or the workpiece is at first stopped prior to the execution of the movement with the second speed, if the second speed is greater than the first speed by at least a predetermined factor. The control device has an input device for triggering the movement with the second speed, and the subsequent execution of the movement with the second speed is triggered by an operator input on the input device. A corresponding control method for controlling a machine tool is also described.
