Ring holding fixture and accessory system
A ring holder system comprising a ring holder base with a body that can be oriented horizontally and vertically on a flat work surface. The base includes a single mandrel extending from a front end face of the base, angled upper tool mounting surfaces circumferentially offset from a top surface of the base, and a flat rear end face for resting the base in a vertical work orientation on a flat surface. A horizontal tool adapter mount is configured to be removably mounted on one of the angled upper tool mounting surfaces, and a vertical tool adapter is configured to be mounted on the bottom surface of the base in the vertical work orientation. The mandrel includes a threaded mounting ring at an inner end of the mandrel adjacent the front end face of the base for mounting accessories such as vises and pitch cups rotatably on the mandrel in the vertical work orientation.
Converting a CNC milling machine to a CNC wire saw
An attachment for converting a CNC milling machine to a CNC wire saw machine. The attachment may include a gantry that may be coupled with a respective gantry of the CNC milling machine, a carriage that may be attached to and moveable with a respective carriage of the CNC milling machine. A drive pulley of the system may be coupled with and driven by a spindle of the CNC milling machine. The drive pully may drive a wire saw through an assembly of idler pulleys. A wire tension mechanism may keep the wire fully stretched. The wire tension mechanism may include a curved guide rail mounted on the gantry and a vertical guide rail mounted on the carriage. A slider that slides vertically on the vertical guide rail and follows the curved guide rail may house a tension wheel that may keep the wire at a fully stretched state.

MACHINE TOOL, TOOL, AND CONTROL PROGRAM
A machine tool including a tool holding unit and a workpiece holding unit includes: a clamper to which a part of a sub-tool, which is a separate tool from a main tool held by the tool holding unit alone, can be detachably connected; an attachment/detachment unit to which another part of the sub-tool can be detachably connected; a tool spindle that moves the clamper; an in-machine robot that moves the attachment/detachment unit; and a controller that controls driving of the tool spindle and the in-machine robot, to execute machining of a workpiece by the sub-tool.
Working head for a machine tool having an interchangeable electrospindle
A working head for a machine tool with non-orthogonal axes, with a support movable along three Cartesian axes, includes a first body mounted to the support to rotate about a first polar axis parallel to one of the Cartesian axes, a second body mounted to the first body to rotate about a second polar axis tilted at a predetermined first angle from the first polar axis, a tool holder electrospindle designed to be coupled to the second body, and an automatic connection system of the electrospindle to the second body. The connection system includes a plurality of pins, which can selectively fit into corresponding seats on the second body or on the electrospindle for centering and locking. Each seat has a collet that is shaped and selectively movable along its axis to exert a radial locking/unlocking action on the pin. A method of locking/unlocking an electrospindle to/from a working head.
Vertical machine tool apparatus and method
In accordance with one aspect, a vertical machine tool is provided having an upper headstock with an upper spindle and a lower tailstock with a lower spindle. A workpiece is secured to the lower tailstock and the headstock drives the upper spindle and a milling tool connected thereto at high speeds for milling the workpiece. The vertical machine tool is also operable to perform turning operations on the workpiece using a turning tool connected to the headstock spindle. The headstock has a mechanical spindle lock that may be configured to rigidly fix the headstock spindle to the headstock housing so that, during the turning operation, the headstock spindle is secured against rotation from loading applied to the turning tool held in the headstock spindle. The lower tailstock drives the lower spindle to rotate the workpiece at speeds up to 2,500 RPM while the non-rotating turning tool held in the upper headstock machines the workpiece.
Transmission device and portable boring-welding apparatus using the same
There is provided a transmission device comprising a rigid casing configured to be mounted perpendicularly on a pair of parallel rotatable driving and driven shafts. Annular driving and driven gears are provided in the casing. The annular driving gear is adapted for rotating simultaneously with the driving shaft, and is also adapted for forwarding rotational motion of the inner section to a transmission device. The annular driven gear is adapted for engaging and rotating simultaneously with the driving shaft and sliding over the same, and for forwarding to the inner section rotational motion received from the transmission device. The transmission device is rotatively connected to the annular driving and driven gears for transmitting rotational movement of the driving shaft to the driven shaft. There is also provided a portable boring-welding apparatus using this transmission device and a method for rotating a driven shaft using a parallel driving shaft.
