MULTI-FUNCTIONAL ROUTER BASE AND METHODS OF USE
A multi-functional router base that includes associated components and various methods of use herein. The router base includes a base plate and an attachment assembly that is operably engaged with the base plate. The router base also includes a first attachment rod and a second attachment rod provided on the attachment assembly, where the first attachment rod and the second attachment rods are adapted to engage a router. The first attachment rod and the second attachment rod of the router base are linearly moveable relative to the base plate. As to the linear movement, the first attachment rod and the second attachment rod are transversely linearly moveable relative to one another and are vertically linearly moveable relative to the base plate based on the configuration of the router being operably engaged with the router base. An edge guiding fence may be operably engageable with the base plate.
Systems, apparatuses and methods of machining pipes and/or pipe flanges
A pipe machining apparatus includes a frame, a tool carrier rotatably coupled hereto and including first and second couplers at first and second coupling locations, a first machining apparatus including a first tool support and a first tool supported thereby, and a second machining apparatus including a bridge member having first and second support members at ends thereof, and a second tool supported by a second tool support on the bridge member. The first and second tools are configured to perform different machining operations. The first tool support is configured to be couplable to the first coupler when the first machining apparatus is used. The first support member is configured to be interchangeably couplable to the first coupler and the second support member is configured to be couplable to the second coupler when the second machining apparatus is used.

A device for holding a milling and/or grinding machine, particularly hand-held milling and/or grinding machine, in a position for machining an edge at one end of a pipe. The holder device includes at least one rotatable roller which can be laid against the pipe inner side or the pipe outer side and by which a connecting part of the holder device, on which the milling and/or grinding machine can be arranged, may be moved along the edge.
System and method for modular portable welding and seam tracking
A modular two-part welding and processing platform is described. A cart section is capable of rotating around objects such as pipes and cylinders, or of linear travel along plates or the like. This cart section reversibly couples to a processing section supplied for instance with welding apparatus, painting apparatus, cleaning means, analysis means or the like. By means of this two-part device, work pieces can be cleaned, welded, and inspected quickly and accurately. Special marks may be provided on the work piece which in conjunction with sensors and motoring means on the cart, allow for precise positioning of the process head with respect to the work.
SPLIT FRAME DEVICE FOR PERFORMING OPERATIONS ON CYLINDRICAL ITEMS
A technique facilitates performance of an operation on a cylindrical item, such as a tube or shaft. The technique utilizes a split frame device having separable sections to enable mounting of the split frame device about the cylindrical item while, for example, the cylindrical item remains in place in an overall system. The split frame device may comprise first and second non-rotating split frame steady assemblies supported by linear rails. A rotating tool carrier assembly is movably mounted on the linear rails between the first and second non-rotating split frame steady assemblies. The rotating tool carrier assembly may be positioned about the cylindrical item such that a rotatable component may be rotated about the cylindrical item. At least one power source may be used to impart axial movement to the rotating tool carrier assembly and/or rotational movement to the rotatable component for performance of a desired operation.
MILLING TOOL HEAD ASSEMBLIES, REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEMS, AND PORTABLE MACHINE TOOLS INCLUDING THE SAME
Milling tool head assemblies, remote control systems, and portable machine tools including the same. A milling tool head assembly comprises a milling tool head carriage, a milling tool head with a milling tool head base pivotally coupled to the milling tool head carriage, and a milling tool carrier operatively coupled to a cutting tool. The milling tool carrier is configured to travel along a primary tool path, and the milling tool carrier is slidingly coupled to the milling tool head base to define a secondary tool path of the milling tool carrier. In some examples, a portable machine tool comprises a machine frame, a rotating ring, a bridge, a facing tool head assembly, and a milling tool head assembly. In some examples, a remote control system for a portable machine tool comprises an operator pendant, a control tether, a pneumatic conditioning unit, and an auxiliary conditioning unit.

A method of cutting a pipe includes positioning a positioning apparatus on the pipe, moving the positioning apparatus relative to the pipe to center the positioning apparatus on the pipe, attaching a pipe machining apparatus to the positioning apparatus, and moving the pipe machining apparatus relative to the positioning apparatus and relative to the pipe.
LATHE GUARD SYSTEMS, REMOTE LATHE CONTROL SYSTEMS, AND PORTABLE LATHE ASSEMBLY KITS INCLUDING THE SAME
Lathe guard systems, remote lathe control systems, and portable lathe assembly kits including the same. A lathe guard system includes a ramp guard and/or a ring guard, each configured to be operatively coupled to a portable lathe to prevent formation of a pinch point between a tripper pin tower and a tool slide assembly of the portable lathe. The ramp guard includes a ramped surface, and the ring guard at least partially overlaps the tool slide assembly to prevent the formation of a pinch point between the tripper pin tower and the tool slide assembly. Remote lathe control systems include an operator pendant configured to enable remote operation of a portable lathe and a control tether extending from the operator pendant. In some examples, a portable lathe assembly kit includes a portable lathe in combination with a lathe guard system and/or a remote lathe control system.

A method for repairing a discharge ring of a hydraulic turbine with a turbine runner in place includes: mounting adjustable fixtures to runner blades that are approximately evenly spaced around the turbine runner, where each adjustable fixture is mounted to a different runner blade at a different predetermined vertical position with respect to a surface of the discharge ring; attaching cutting equipment configured to remove material from the discharge ring to each adjustable fixture installed on the runner blades; installing a drive unit configured to rotate the turbine runner; controlling the drive unit to rotate the runner at a specified speed; and controlling the cutting equipment attached to each adjustable fixture to concurrently remove material from the discharge ring as the turbine runner rotates.

In one aspect, a pipe machining system is provided and includes a positioning apparatus, a pipe machining apparatus, and an adjustment member coupled to the positioning apparatus and a pipe machining apparatus. The adjustment member is configured to move the pipe machining apparatus relative to the positioning apparatus. In one aspect, the pipe machining system also includes a position tracking apparatus configured to identify a position of the pipe machining apparatus relative to a pipe on which the system is mounted.
