METHOD FOR MACHINING DRILL WITH TILTING BLADE SLOT STRUCTURES FOR COMPOSITE MACHINING
A method for machining a drill with tilting blade slot structures for composite machining is provided. In the machining method, a face of the drill produces a downward component force for the inlet material to inhibit the inlet material from turning up; and a cutting edge inclination of an end surface at an outer turning point in a corner region of the drill is a positive value. The face and a flank are firstly partially ground in the corner region of the drill. The face at the outer turning point is ground with a grinding wheel to obtain two tilting blade slot structures. After grinding, a new face and a new cutting edge are obtained; and the cutting edge inclination on the end surface formed by the new cutting edge and a reference plane is a positive angle.

A method for producing a cutting tool, in particular a drill bit, is specified wherein the cutting tool has a front end (F) at the front and a rear end (R) toward the rear, wherein a tool tip is formed on the front end (F), a point thinning is ground at the tool tip with a grinding tool, the point thinning being ground to be narrower toward the front than toward the rear. The point thinning is ground with a constant point thinning angle (AW). Furthermore, a corresponding cutting tool is specified.

The point thinning is ground with a constant point thinning angle (AW). Furthermore, a corresponding cutting tool is specified.

POLISHING PAD AND POLISHING METHOD
There is provided a polishing pad that ensures sufficiently performing polishing up to a part near a projection portion and an inner surface of a recessed portion in a surface of an object to be polished in polishing the object to be polished having a surface with at least one of the projection portion and the recessed portion. The polishing pad includes a napped part (1) where a plurality of fibers (12) with a length of 3 mm or more are napped on a surface of a base portion (11). A count of the fibers (12) is 10000 pieces/cm.sup.2 or more.
