The device comprises a feed device for feeding a temporary workpiece in a timed manner, wherein the temporary workpiece is formed from a plurality of saw bands which are parallel to one another. The device further comprises a clamping device which clamps the plurality of saw bands against one another, and a grinding unit for simultaneously grinding a plurality of teeth. The grinding unit comprises a grinding wheel with a plurality of grinding profiles. A corresponding method is also provided, where the grinding unit grinds both the tooth backs and the tooth faces to final dimension in exactly one infeed movement.
Grinding device and grinding method wherein a grinding unit can operate on-board as well as off-board
A grinding device and a grinding method for grinding at least one knife. The grinding device includes a frame with a knife holder and a grinding unit comprising a grinding head, a grinding head holder, and a grinding head drive assembly. The grinding unit can selectively be connected with the frame or can be disconnected from the frame and can be placed on a cutting assembly with knives to be ground. In both operating modes the grinding head drive assembly rotates the grinding head and moves the rotating grinding head with respect to the grinding head holder.

Multi-tool blade sharpening apparatus
A blade sharpening apparatus for sharpening a serrated blade includes a blade holder configured to securely hold a serrated blade in a position that exposes a toothed edge of the serrated blade. A grinding wheel rotates about a rotational axis and engages teeth spaced along the toothed edge of the serrated blade that is secured in the blade holder. An oscillating mechanism laterally oscillates the blade holder or the grinding wheel relative to the other at an oscillating distance greater than a depth between the teeth on the serrated blade. A linear actuator longitudinally moves the blade holder or the grinding wheel relative to the other and substantially parallel with the rotational axis of the grinding wheel. The linear actuator is operable with the oscillating mechanism to coincide the longitudinal and lateral movement to correspond to the depth and spacing of the teeth disposed along the serrated blade.
Portable sharpener
A portable sharpener for chains of chainsaws comprising sharpening means (2) and a coupling device (3). The sharpening means (2) are configured to sharpen the teeth (102) of a chain (101) of a chainsaw. The coupling device (3) supports the sharpening means (2) and is configured to be reversibly constrained to the chainsaw. Furthermore, the coupling device (3) comprises a support structure (4) which has a first plate (4a) adapted to be arranged parallel to a main extension plane of a chain guide bar (100) of the chainsaw and a second plate (4b) configured to abut against the bar (100), in such a way as to be at least partly interposed between the bar and the chain (101). The first and the second plate (4b) are arranged substantially in an L-configuration. The coupling structure further comprises one or more attachment members (5) applied to the first plate (4a) and configured to constrain the support structure (4) to the bar (100) of the chainsaw.

CUTTING EDGE WITH COLD FORGED NOTCHES TO ENHANCE CUTTING PERFORMANCE
Method for enhancing sharpness of a cutting tool. A blade portion is cold forged by applying a force to a first side of the blade portion using a form tool projection to form a notch such that a portion of the metal material from the first side of the blade is work hardened and plastically deformed to extend through a plane along which the second side extends. A secondary grinding operation is applied to the second side of the blade portion to remove the portion of the metal material that extends beyond the plane along which the second side extends and sharpen a cutting edge extending between the first and second sides. The form tool projection is a radially extending projection of a rotatable knurl roller which rotates to form a sequence of spaced apart cold forged notches along the cutting edge.
