A bore finishing tool has an arbor with a tapered outer circumferential surface and a sleeve over the arbor having a tapered inner circumferential surface cooperatively disposed in surface to surface overlaying relation to at least a substantial portion of the tapered outer circumferential surface of the arbor. The sleeve is adjustably movable relative to the arbor for expanding a diametrical extent of the sleeve and has a plurality of internal material relief features at circumferentially spaced locations in the tapered inner circumferential surface extending partially through the sleeve so as to reduce a level of force required for expanding the diametrical extent of the sleeve. Exemplary material relief features include flutes and fractures. The sleeve can also include an external retraction feature enabling application of a retraction force by an external device for reducing the diametrical extent.

Apparatus and method for honing tubulars of a wellsite

The disclosure relates to a tool for honing a tubular component of a wellsite. The honing tool includes a base operatively connectable to a wellsite component, a honing head supported by the base, honing stones supported about the honing head, and a driver. The honing stones are engageable with an outer surface of the tubular component. The driver rotationally drives the honing head whereby the honing stones hone an outer periphery of the tubular component.

METHOD FOR HONING A STATOR AND MACHINE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD

The invention relates to a method for machining a stator opening of a stator and a bearing opening of an electromechanical converter, in particular an electric motor, the method comprising the steps of honing the stator opening using a honing tool and machining, preferably honing, the bearing opening.

Grinding tool

A grinding tool for machining an inside surface of a cylinder bore in a workpiece, the grinding tool having an axis of rotation, a grinding region which is cylindrical with respect to the axis of rotation and a conical grinding region axially adjoining the cylindrical grinding region. A diameter of the conical grinding region increases starting from the cylindrical grinding region in an axial direction with respect to a diameter of the cylindrical grinding region.

HONING TOOL

The present invention relates to a honing tool and a method for honing the inner surface of an opening in a workpiece with a honing tool according to the invention.

Method and device for producing non-cylindrical bores with at least one recess by honing

A honing tool has a tool body and shells disposed on the tool body. Honing stone sets each provided with two or more honing stones are provided. The shells each support one of the honing stone sets. Guide bars of the honing tool are placed against the bore and a portion of the bore is conically honed with decreasing stroke of the honing tool, wherein a lower reversing point of the honing tool remains substantially unchanged. Honing is terminated as soon as an upper reversing point has reached a predetermined terminal value. Alternatively, a portion of the bore is conically honed with a constant stroke of the honing tool, wherein reversing points of the stroke of the honing tool remain substantially unchanged and a feeding force pressing the honing stones against the bore is controlled as a function of a position of the honing tool in the bore.

Tool for honing an external surface of a right cylindrical tube and method of use

A honing tool (1) for honing a cylindrical external surface (2) of a rod (3). The tool comprises a plurality of honing inserts (4), adapted to hone a metal, and a support (5) for the honing inserts. The inserts (4) are carried by the support (5) and define a passage (6) around which the inserts (4) are to be found and in which the cylindrical external surface (2) of the rod (3) is insertable. The tool (1) includes a plurality of sliding skids (7) carried by the support (5), the sliding skids (7) and the honing inserts (4) being arranged to be capable of coming simultaneously into contact against the cylindrical external surface (2) of the rod (3) when the rod is placed inside the passage (6) and so as to be able to center the cylindrical external surface (2) inside the passage (6).
