HONING BAR, METHOD OF PRODUCING A HONING BAR AND HONING TOOL
A honing strip for use in a honing tool for machining an inner surface of a bore includes a cutting layer carrier that carries, on an outer side, a cutting layer including cutting grains bound within a bond and an abrasive working surface that engages on the inner surface of the bore, wherein the honing strip defines a longitudinal direction (L) to be oriented parallel to a bore axis and the working surface extends in a width direction (B), perpendicular to the longitu-dinal direction, between a first side surface and a second side surface of the cutting layer, and the working surface has a generally convex macroscopic form with at least two macroscopically planar facets of different orientation which transition, along edges running in the longitudinal direction, to an adjacent facet or a side surface.
HONING TOOL AND HONING STICK
A honing tool includes a tool body which is tubular at least in certain portions and includes a cutting region with at least one honing stick receiving opening which is continuous from the interior of the tool body to the outside and is intended for receiving a honing stick, wherein dimensions of the honing stick receiving opening and of the honing stick are matched to one another such that the honing stick is received radially movably, and substantially without play in the circumferential direction of the tool body, between boundary surfaces of the honing stick receiving opening. The honing tool comprises a honing stick retaining system designed such that the honing stick is held in the honing stick receiving opening by the honing stick retaining system.
Honing tool
A head assembly of a honing tool includes a carrier having a proximal end connectable to a spindle, a distal end, and a plurality of stones. The head assembly also includes a pilot cap connected to the distal end, and defining an end face and a sidewall. A transition surface defined by the pilot cap extends between the end face and the sidewall. The transition surface extends at a first angle forming a first angled relief and then at a second angle forming a second angled relief.
