POLISHING PAD CONDITIONING APPARATUS

A polishing pad conditioning apparatus includes a base, a fiber, and a polymer protruding from a surface of the base and encompassing the fiber.

Buffing system for footwear

Buffing of a footwear component allows for an alteration of the component surface to achieve an intended surface for aesthetics and/or manufacturing purposes. The buffing is performed in a system having a vision module, a sidewall buffing module, an up surface buffing module, and a down surface buffing module. Each of the buffing modules are adapted for the unique shape and sizes of a footwear component to effectively and automatically buff the footwear component.

Provided is a grinding element for use in rotary grinding or polishing tools used for grinding or polishing surfaces, and of the type comprising an elongate profile rail, including an abrasive cloth and support brushes. The abrasive cloth and the support brushes are mounted in or on the profile rail, such that the abrasive cloth is supported by the support brushes on its inactive side. The abrasive cloth outside the profile rail has a height in the vertical direction and a length in the longitudinal direction. The support brushes and the abrasive cloth have different heights, a support brush height and an abrasive cloth height, respectively, from the profile rail, such that the abrasive cloth is terminated by an outer exposed edge area extending beyond the top of the support brushes and a short distance down along the outer exposed end portions of the support brushes.

Rotary brush and rotary brush wire configurations

A rotary wire brush, such as a wheel brush, e.g., double-stringer or dually brush, cup brush, bevel brush, or knotted end brush, composed of knotted brush wire tufts of multistrand construction each having at least a plurality of brush wire strands, preferably at least a plurality of pairs of, i.e., at least three, strands each formed of at least a plurality, preferably at least a plurality of pairs of, i.e., at least three, wires. The wires forming strands are twisted, braided, or twisted and braided, and the strands that form tufts are twisted, braided, or twisted and braided. A preferred brush employs a center disc, e.g., hub, with radially offset tuft anchor holes, which can have different sizes, from which twist knot tufts, which also can have different sizes, can outwardly extend from the disc different distances by being configured with an offset trim preferably having different trim lengths.
