Sanding apparatus with multiple part engagement members
A method of removing material from a surface of an ultrasound directing element comprising a plastic material is provided. The method includes mounting the ultrasound directing element to a mounting block of a sanding apparatus. The mounting block includes an engagement member that moves from a release position to an engagement position thereby engaging the ultrasound directing element. The mounting block is moved along a base of the sanding apparatus bringing a surface of the ultrasound directing element into contact with a sanding surface. Material is removed from the surface of the ultrasound directing element using the sanding surface.
FRET TOOL
A system, method, and apparatus for shaping frets can comprise a fret tool, the fret tool further comprising a fret tool body configured with at least one edge, the at least one edge further comprising a groove with a filing surface therein. The groove can be selected to have an incomplete radial shape on each side, with the respective radial walls of the groove being moved toward one another to form a point or crease at the center of the groove.
Device for smoothing window tinting and graphics application tools
A device for smoothing a working edge of a squeegee tool that is used for application of film substrates to glass surfaces; the device having a main body including a base and opposing first and second panels extending away from the base and diverging away from one another to define an open mouth, and a fabric sheet secured to the main body at opposite end portions, and the fabric sheet including a central portion received within the open mouth and formed in a V-shape transverse configuration, wherein the working edge of the tool is moved longitudinally between the opposing panels and in frictional engagement with a top surface of the fabric sheet at a bottom of the V-shape to effectively remove bumps, nicks and scratches on the working edge of the tool.
CONFORMABLE SANDING BLOCK
A conformable sanding block with a longitudinal axis has a locking end cap, a sliding end cap and a series of indexable segments therebetween. A flexible position rod is fastened to both end caps and passes through and captures each indexable segments forming the ergonomically conformable sanding block that is settable between concave and convex shapes for sanding contoured shapes. The sanding block has a bottom whereat a sandpaper holder is releasably and slidably attached for releaseably fastening sandpaper thereto.
Blocking Tool
A blocking tool and a method of using the blocking tool to sand a surface of a vehicle are disclosed. The blocking tool includes a first member having a length and having an outer periphery with a plurality of cuts formed therein. The plurality of cuts extend over at least about 70% of the length and each of the cuts penetrates the first member through an arc of at least about 70% of the outer periphery. The blocking tool also has a base member with a first surface, an oppositely aligned second surface, and a length. A portion of the outer periphery of the first member is secured to the first surface of the base member to form an integral blocking tool.
FLEXIBLE HAND-HELD SANDING DEVICE WITH FINGER GRIP INDENTATIONS
A sanding apparatus includes a flexible base member which includes a base member bottom side and a base member top side. A quantity of abrasive material is attached to the base member bottom side. A flexible handle is positioned above the base member top side, and attachment means are provided for attaching the flexible base member to the flexible handle. The flexible handle includes a pair of parallel (opposing side) finger grip grooves. The flexible handle also includes a plurality of finger grip indentations located on each side of top edge of the flexible handle to provide a more comfortable gripping of the flexible handle.
POLISHING MECHANISM, POLISHING DEVICE, AND POLISHING METHOD
A mechanism for polishing includes a polishing member, an eccentric member coupled to the polishing member, and a driving member coupled to the eccentric member. The driving member drives the eccentric member to rotate to move the polishing member to reciprocate in the one-dimensional direction, so that when a relative position between the polishing mechanism and the workpiece is fixed, the polishing member polishes a workpiece by translating a polishing surface. A method for the polishing process, applied by a polishing device, is also disclosed. By using the polishing mechanism, the entirety of the polishable surface of the workpiece can be covered, and collapsed edges of the workpiece are avoided.
Polishing side surfaces of fibers
Apparatuses and associated methods for polishing side surfaces of fibers. The system includes a fiber loading mechanism for securing a fiber to the apparatus, a polishing mechanism, and a linear motion mechanism for linearly translating one of the polishing mechanism and the fiber for polishing a side surface of the fiber using the polishing mechanism.
SANDER CLAMPING MECHANISM
A sanding device includes a base, a plurality of protrusions extending from the base, a plurality of fasteners, a first one of the fasteners extending through the base, a clamping mechanism having openings through which the protrusions and the first one of the fasteners extend, and a spring arranged over the first one of the fasteners, between the base and the clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism is releasably fixed in contact with the base in a first state and the clamping mechanism is spaced from the base in a second state while retained with respect to the base by at least a pair of the plurality of protrusions extending from the base to substantially prevent axial rotation of the clamping mechanism.
POLISHING TOOL AND APPARATUS FOR POLISHING A WORKPIECE
The present invention relates to a polishing tool 10 comprising a holder 11, a ball 12 received in the holder 11, and a polishing foil 13 covering all or part of the free surface 12a of the ball 12.
