METHOD FOR PRODUCING ABRASIVE PARTICLES
A method for producing abrasive particles includes the following method steps: i. preparing a starting mixture containing at least aluminium hydroxide, which mixture can be converted at least into aluminium oxide by means of heat treatment; ii. extruding the starting mixture to form an extrudate; iii. separating the extrudate into intermediate particles; and iv. heat-treating the intermediate particles. The intermediate particles are converted into abrasive particles that contain aluminium oxide, and the extrudate and/or the intermediate particles is/are subjected to an input of energy that is asymmetrical with respect to the geometry of the extrudate and/or the intermediate particles.

ELECTRODEPOSITION WHETSTONE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD
According to an embodiment, an electrodeposition whetstone includes a plating layer, first abrasive grains protruding from the plating layer, and second abrasive grains which are arranged between the first abrasive grains. The amount of protrusion of the second abrasive grains from the plating layer is smaller than the amount of protrusion of the first abrasive grains from the plating layer. A grain size of the second abrasive grains is smaller than a grain size of the first abrasive grains.

IRON GRADIENT IN POLYCRYSTALLINE DIAMOND COMPACTS; BLANKS, CUTTERS AND CUTTING TOOLS INCLUDING SAME; AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Polycrystalline diamond compacts, polycrystalline diamond blanks, polycrystalline diamond cutters, and tools incorporating same for cutting, milling, grinding, drilling and other abrasive operations, particularly in metal cutting applications, include a diamond table having a gradient in iron content that increases as distance into the volume of the diamond table increases. The iron gradient increases resistance to wear, such as in interrupted milling tests. The disclosure further relates to methods of manufacturing polycrystalline diamond compacts having a gradient in iron concentration in the diamond table, blanks and cutters including polycrystalline diamond compacts, cutting tools incorporating such compacts, blanks and cutters, and methods of cutting, milling, grinding and drilling, particularly metal machining, using such compacts, blanks, cutters, cutting tools and drill bits.
Abrasive coating including metal matrix and ceramic particles
A system may include a powder source; a powder delivery device; an energy delivery device; and a computing device. The computing device may be configured to: control the powder source to deliver metal powder to the powder delivery device; control the powder delivery device to deliver the metal powder to a surface of an abrasive coating; and control the energy delivery device to deliver energy to at least one of the abrasive coating or the metal powder to cause the metal powder to be joined to the abrasive coating.
Bonded abrasive wheel and method of making the same
A bonded abrasive wheel comprises magnetizable abrasive particles retained in an organic binder. The bonded abrasive wheel has a central portion adjacent to a central hub, an outer circumference and a rotational axis extending through the central hub. The magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the central hub are aligned at an average angle of less than 35 degrees with respect to the rotational axis, and the magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the outer circumference of the bonded abrasive wheel are aligned at an average angle that is from 35 and 90 degrees, inclusive, with respect to the rotational axis. Methods of making a bonded abrasive wheel are also disclosed.
