COMPOSITE BINDING AGENT GRINDING WHEEL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present application relates to a composite binding agent grinding wheel, wherein a weight percentage of each raw material of the grinding wheel is: 45-65% of pretreatment abrasive, 8-20% of resin bonding agent, 5-12% of hexagonal boron nitride, 5-10% of silicon dioxide, 5-15% of ceramic powder, 6-12% of prealloy powder bonding agent, and 1-3% of boron powder. The composite binding agent super-hard grinding wheel prepared by the present application can achieve nano-level grinding surface quality when grinding epitaxial wafers, and the grinding wheel has strong self-sharpening and high sharpness. It has obvious advantages in the finishing of silicon carbide crystal epitaxial wafers, which can solve the current limitations of back thinning processing of silicon carbide crystal epitaxial wafers.

A fixed abrasive three-dimensional plate includes micron size diamond beads or a mixture of abrasive particles and metal oxide beads, ranging in size from a few microns to a few tens of microns, incorporated into a matrix of one or more inorganic binders and fillers. The composition is formed into a rigid plate blank, and the abrasive plate is mounted on a substrate forming a lapping/polishing plate. The abrasive plate is capable of delivering high material removal rates coupled with reduced surface roughness when lapping/polishing advanced materials, including sapphire, titanium carbide reinforced alumina, silicon carbide, gallium nitride, aluminum nitride, zinc selenide, and other compound semiconductor materials, as well as, glass, ceramic, metallic, and composite workpieces. The diamond beads incorporated in the fixed abrasive three-dimensional plate include diamond particles ranging in size from a few nanometers to a few tens of microns, bonded with one or more inorganic binders and additives.

The present disclosure provides a polymer bond abrasive article formed of a continuous photocured polymer matrix having abrasive particles retained therein. The photocured polymer matrix includes at least one of an optical brightener or a light absorber, and the polymer bond abrasive article has a three-dimensional shape. An abrasive tool is also provided, including the abrasive article affixed to a shaft or a pad. Further, a method of making the polymer bond abrasive article is provided, including a) obtaining a photocurable composition liquid dispersion; b) selectively curing a portion of the photocurable composition; and repeating steps a) and b) to form the polymer bond abrasive article. The dispersion contains at least one photocurable component; abrasive particles; a photoinitiator; and at least one of an optical brightener or a light absorber.
COATED ABRASIVE ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A coated abrasive article comprises a backing having first and second opposed major surfaces, a make layer disposed on at least a portion of the first major surface and bonding abrasive particles to the backing, a size layer overlaid on at least a portion of the make layer and the abrasive particles, and an optional supersize layer. At least one of the size layer or the optional supersize layer comprises an at least partially cured resole phenolic resin and an organic polymeric rheology modifier, and wherein the amount of the at least partially cured resole phenolic resin comprises from 75 to 99.99 weight percent of the combined weight of the at least partially cured resole phenolic resin and the organic polymeric rheology modifier. A method of making the coated abrasive article is also disclosed.
Abrasive articles having a plurality of portions and methods for forming same
An abrasive article can include a body including a plurality of portions including a first abrasive portion and a second abrasive portion. The first abrasive portion can include a vitreous bond material and abrasive particles contained within the bond material. The second abrasive particles can include an organic bond material and abrasive particles contained within the bond material. The body can have a burst speed of at least 65 m/s. In an embodiment, the abrasive article can include an interior portion coupled to the first and second abrasive portions. In another embodiment, the interior portion can optionally include abrasive particles or a filler material.
Coated abrasive article and method of making the same
A method of making a coated abrasive article is disclosed. A backing has first and second opposed major surfaces. A make layer precursor is disposed on at least a portion of the first major surface. Magnetizable abrasive particles are disposed onto the make layer precursor while under the influence of an applied magnetic field. At least a majority the magnetizable abrasive particles extend away from the make layer precursor in an orientation substantially aligned with the applied magnetic field. Non-magnetizable particles are then disposed onto the make layer precursor while under the influence of the applied magnetic field. At least some of the non-magnetizable particles are disposed between the magnetizable abrasive particles. Then, the make layer precursor is at least partially cured to provide a make layer.
