MULTI-JOINING SYSTEM

A template holding jig for holding a template for use with a router for routing a workpiece is provided. The holding jig may also be part of a workpiece joining jig that includes a plurality of templates. The template holding jig includes a template support, a workpiece support and a template guide. The template support defines a template support plane. The workpiece support defines a workpiece support plane extending perpendicular to the template support plane. The template guide defines at least one abutment preventing motion of a template located on the template support parallel to a first axis being parallel to the workpiece support plane and parallel to the template support plane. The at least one abutment permits motion of the template parallel to a second axis being orthogonal to the workpiece support plane and perpendicular to the first axis and parallel to the template support plane.

Device for inspecting waterproofness

A device for inspecting waterproofness of an object includes a lower jig and an upper jig configured to support the object to be inspected, inspection modules configured to contact an outer surface of the object, and an air compressor configured to supply air to the inspection modules. Each of the inspection modules includes a jig that is configured to contact the outer surface of the object and defines a chamber configured to communicate air, a valve defining a passage in communication with the chamber, an air supply line connecting the valve to the air compressor and configured to guide air to the passage, and a pressure sensor connected to the valve and configured to detect an air pressure in the passage.

A portable press is usable with parts that are assembled by interference fit or friction fit. A force application member slidably engages a plurality of guides. An actuator, such as a pneumatic or hydraulic jack or cylinder, applies force to the force application member to move the force application member toward a static plate. The force application member acts to either press in, or press out, a first part relative to a second part. The press of the invention is portable, so that the press can be moved to the mechanical structure requiring a press for removal or insertion of parts. The press may be constructed in a vertical or horizontal embodiment.

PRECISION ADJUST SHARPENER

Method and apparatus for sharpening a cutting edge of a cutting tool, such as a kitchen knife. A fixture secures opposing sides of a blade of the cutting tool and includes a main body and hinged first and second clamping jaws each having a clamping end adapted to compressingly engage a respective side of the blade. A guide coupled to the main body has converging support surfaces to contactingly engage a back edge (spine) of the blade opposite the cutting edge to center the blade along a central plane of the fixture. A retraction mechanism establishes a clamping force upon each of the respective sides of the blade via the clamping jaws. Further embodiments include a base assembly adapted to receive the fixture, and a swing arm style abrasive assembly to carry out a sharpening operation upon the cutting edge.
