SYSTEM FOR CONNECTING END EFFECTORS TO ROBOT ARMS THAT OPERATE UNDER STERILE CONDITIONS

An end effector is removably connected to a robot arm under sterile conditions with an arm mount module configured to be permanently connected to the robot arm, and an arm drape module configured to be removably connected to the arm mount module by a first locking mechanism. A third module, which is a passive end effector, may be configured to be removably connected to the arm drape module by a second locking mechanism. In some embodiments, a sterile hand drape module is configured to be removably connected to the arm drape module by the second locking mechanism; and a hand mount module is configured to be removably connected to the hand drape module by a third locking mechanism, and to be permanently connected to the end effector or the hand mount module is the end effector itself.
The systems for connecting an end effector to a robot arm provide a signal or energy transmission pathway between the robot arm and the end effector. The transmitted energy can be electrical or mechanical.

The carriage includes a plurality of wheels configured to roll along the pair of rails, a motor configured to drive at least one of the wheels along one of the rails, a power collector configured to translate along the power transmitter while maintaining contact with the power transmitter so as to conduct electrical power from the power transmitter to the motor, and a transceiver configured to receive and send electronic information from and to the radiating cable.

INDUSTRIAL ROBOT

This industrial robot is provided with: an arm portion having a longitudinal axis; a wrist portion provided to a distal end of the arm portion and swingable about a swing axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis; a wire body inserted through the inside of the arm portion and connected to an end effector mounted to the wrist portion; and an energizing unit for energizing the wire body in a separate direction away from the wrist portion along the longitudinal axis of the arm portion. Thus, in an industrial robot in which a wire body is inserted through the inside of an arm portion, a conventional deficiency generated corresponding to a swing motion of a wrist portion can be eliminated.

STRETCHABLE CABLE

A stretchable cable is provided that allows an extra length to be reduced when routed in a movable part. The stretchable cable includes an elastically deformable hollow insulation having a hollow portion that is continuous along a cable longitudinal direction, and at least one electricity- or light-conducting wire-shaped body provided in a spiral shape along the cable longitudinal direction and fixed to the hollow insulation to stretch and contract together with the hollow insulation. The cable is elongated not less than 1.2 times when a tensile force is applied, and the cable returns to an original length when the tensile force is removed.

Subsea manipulator

A subsea manipulator for a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) that includes at least one linear, oil-filled electric actuator to control a motion of the manipulator in a subsea environment is disclosed. The remotely operated underwater manipulator includes an electric actuator for each axis of motion of the manipulator, and an end effector that includes a rotational joint and a tool motor for controlling a tool affixed to the end effector. A method for changing the tool of the manipulator in a subsea environment is disclosed.

Robot unit

A robot uni includes: a first link forming a center of rotation of the robot unit; a second link configured to perform a revolution motion or a rotation motion based on the center of rotation when rotated about the first link; first members, each of which is provided between the first link and the second link; drivers, each of which is provided in a direction that faces the first link and is configured to provide driving forces to the first members; wires configured to transmit the driving forces of the drivers to the first members; and second members, each of which is provided on the first link and the second link, is wound by the wires, and is configured to perform a revolution motion or a rotation motion along with the first link and the second link in a case where each of the first members is driven.

Robot end effector for dispensing an extrudable substance

A robot end effector for dispensing an extrudable substance comprises a chassis, cartridge bays, attached to the chassis and each shaped to receive a corresponding one of two-part cartridges, and a manifold, comprising a manifold outlet, manifold inlets, and a valve inlet. When the two-part cartridges are received by the cartridge bays, the manifold inlets are in fluidic communication with corresponding ones of the two-part cartridges via static mixers, attached to cartridge outlets of the two-part cartridges. The robot end effector additionally comprises a head assembly, comprising pairs of fittings, configured to selectively supply compressed air from a pressure source to the two-part cartridges when the two-part cartridges are received by the cartridge bays, so that contents of the two-part cartridges are concurrently extruded through the cartridge outlets.

Remotely Operated Vessel Cleaning Apparatus and Method

A vessel cleaning device and method includes an armored chassis with track members operable independently by first and second pneumatic drive systems, and a remotely controllable arm. A plurality of nozzles disposed on the arm are configured to rotate while spraying high pressure liquid in mutually opposed directions when the arm is extended. The device is sized and shaped to pass through a 24-inch opening in the vessel when the arm is collapsed, and the track members and the arm are controllable remotely by an operator external to the vessel. Once the device has passed through the 24-inch opening into the vessel, the arm is movable into the extended position, and the device is movable within the vessel while the nozzles spray liquid along a notional circumference to remove waste materials from an interior surface of the vessel.
