A boot seal is detachably attached to a joint including: a drive link and link members; and a ball joint for linking them to be relatively rotatable or swivelable. The ball joint includes a ball shank having a shaft section fixed to the drive link and a ball section provided on one end of the shaft section and a holder that is fixed to an end section of each of the link members and that has a ball-receiving section for supporting the ball section in a state where the ball section is surrounded. A cover main body that covers the gap between the ball shank and the holder and that is formed of a flexible material includes through-holes through which the shaft section is made to pass, a slit that continuously extends between the through-holes, and a fastener opening and hermetically closing the slit along the entire length thereof.

SYSTEM FOR CONNECTING END EFFECTORS TO ROBOT ARMS THAT OPERATE UNDER STERILE CONDITIONS

An end effector is removably connected to a robot arm under sterile conditions with an arm mount module configured to be permanently connected to the robot arm, and an arm drape module configured to be removably connected to the arm mount module by a first locking mechanism. A third module, which is a passive end effector, may be configured to be removably connected to the arm drape module by a second locking mechanism. In some embodiments, a sterile hand drape module is configured to be removably connected to the arm drape module by the second locking mechanism; and a hand mount module is configured to be removably connected to the hand drape module by a third locking mechanism, and to be permanently connected to the end effector or the hand mount module is the end effector itself.
The systems for connecting an end effector to a robot arm provide a signal or energy transmission pathway between the robot arm and the end effector. The transmitted energy can be electrical or mechanical.

In response to detecting a fall event, a fragile member of a robot can be actuated to a defensive configuration to avoid or reduce damage. An actuatable protective member can be actuated to protect a fragile member to avoid or reduce damage to the fragile member. Actuatable protective members can be dedicated protective members, or can be other members of the robot which serve different functionality outside of a fall event but act as a protective member during a fall event.

A soft robotic gripper having component parts capable of being assembled in the field at the terminus of an industrial robot arm for providing adaptive gripping of a product.
