A knife, components thereof, a sheath therefor, and associated methods. The sheath may be releasably retainable on the blade by engagement of connection structure of the sheath and blade formed by inserting the blade into the sheath. The blade may include a bottle opener. The knife may include a finger recess adapted to receive a finger of a user when the knife is gripped by the user. The knife may be an ulu knife.

Conventional herb strippers can be tedious, time consuming, and awkward to use. Accordingly, the present inventors devised new tools and methods that allow faster and easier herb stripping. One tool includes an herb stripping notch configured to engage the plant stem of an herb at an intermediate point between its two ends, with the edges of the notch stripping leaves as the notch is moved over the stem or the stem is pulled through the notch. In some embodiments, one or more of these notches, for example six, are included in a blade structure, with the notches arranged in a smallest-to-largest sequence. The blade structure may also includes a knife edge, enabling it to serve the added function of a knife.

A flange is disposed along a distal edge of an upper surface of the base plate and forming a concave opening. A semi-collar comprising a pair of arms is pivotally secured on the flange configured to switch between a locked position and an unlocked position. Two or more posts are perpendicularly disposed on the base plate to removably engage the two or more holes on the spine of the blade.

An outdoor tool with multiple functions may comprise a handle, a spring clip, a blade, a cover and a flint rod. When the blade is in a folded position, it is coupled with the spring clip, and an actuating segment of the spring clip can tightly clamp the blade. A tool is provided that includes unitary plate that includes a blade portion and a tang portion. The blade portion can include an edge. The tang portion can include a positioning hole, a first hole, a slot, a second hole, a rivet hole, and one or more teeth (also referred to as one or more barbs) on a side of the tang portion. The tool can further include a hilt member which includes a through passage, a tab, and a notch. The tool includes an overlay on a body to create a handle for gripping the tool. The tool further includes a hammerhead cap on an end of the body, the hammerhead cap is coupled to the handle with a rivet through the rivet hole.

A knife and scissors having a protection means are disclosed. The knife, which has a handle, a body extended in one direction in engagement with the handle, and a body blade formed at the bottom of the body, for performing a cutting action, includes a protrusion spaced upward from a distal end of the body, an insertion portion formed in a space between the body and the protrusion, and an upper blade formed at the bottom of the insertion portion. The upper blade cuts an object inserted in the insertion portion and the protrusion protects a human body or the object by contacting the body or the object earlier than the distal end of the body, when the body slips off the object.

Provided is a tool that includes a handle assembly including a top portion and a bottom portion. The tool also includes a lock plate disposed between the top and bottom portions and having a deflectable arm having a free end biased towards the top portion, a fixed end opposite the free end, an inner edge, an outer edge, and a detent near the free end and the inner edge. The tool additionally includes a blade having first and second ends, an indent in a bottom surface of the blade near the first end for engaging the detent in a closed position, and a ramp on the bottom surface near the indent defining a reduced thickness portion of the blade that reduces in thickness from the indent towards an edge of the blade to reduce contact between the detent and the blade during rotation of the blade.

A hand knife tool has alignment markings configured on its blade to help orientate the cutting edge of the knife tool across a workpiece to make a miter cut. A transverse axis is defined perpendicular to a substantially straight middle section of the cutting edge and bisecting the two faces of the knife blade. Each alignment marking is configured on the knife blade at an angle relative to the transverse axis. Each of the alignment markings visually delineate an alignment line substantially across the knife blade between the cutting edge and the blade back. When one of the alignment markings on the knife tool is aligned to the edge of a workpiece, it places the cutting edge of the knife tool across the workpiece at a substantially congruent angle. Then the knife can be pivoted upon its edge and then make a miter cut.
