An electric grooming appliance includes a housing, a grooming device, an electric motor, and a controller. In some embodiments, the electric grooming appliance is capable of operating in different modes and includes a user interface which allows a user to communicate with the controller and select at least one of the modes. The electric grooming appliance may provide information to the user relating to information determined and/or detected during a grooming session. In addition, the electric grooming appliance may record or store grooming session information on a memory and estimate future operating parameters based on the grooming session information. The electric grooming appliance may include a trimmer assembly that is positionable between a stowed position and an operative position.

A hair cutting device having a cutting unit, the cutting unit including a blade carrier carrying a cutting blade that has cutting teeth; a guard blade that has guard teeth. The blade is movable along the blade carrier relative to the cutting blade within a guard length range between a first guard position corresponding to a shortest hair cutting length of the cutting unit and a second guard position corresponding to the longest hair cutting length of the cutting unit. The blade carrier includes a stop configured to prevent movement of the guard blade past the first guard position and outside of the guard length range, thereby preventing the cutting length from being below the shortest cutting length.

There is disclosed a hair cutting device (10) comprising a cutting unit (30), the cutting unit comprising: a blade carrier (32) carrying a cutting blade (33), the cutting blade comprising cutting teeth (34); a guard blade (40) comprising guard teeth (42); wherein the guard blade is movable along the blade carrier relative to the cutting blade within a guard length range between a first guard position corresponding to a shortest hair cutting length of the cutting unit and a second guard position corresponding to the longest hair cutting length of the cutting unit; and wherein the blade carrier comprises a stop (35) configured to prevent movement of the guard blade past the first guard position and outside of the guard length range, thereby preventing the cutting length from being below the shortest cutting length.

A reciprocating-type electric shaver includes an outer blade, an oscillator that is driven to reciprocate by a motor, and an inner blade that reciprocates in cooperation with the oscillator. The oscillator includes attachment portions that are respectively attached to a main body, a movable base, both end sides of which are supported by the attachment portions via support portions having a substantially U-shape, and a cooperation portion that cooperates with the inner blade. In the respective support portions, a portion on a side connected to the attachment portion in a base portion, which is one linear portion of the U-shape, is formed in flexible oscillating pieces. The respective oscillating pieces are formed to be tilted in a direction orthogonal to a reciprocating direction of the movable base so that a lower portion side of the respective oscillating pieces is open outward in the reciprocating direction of the movable base.

The present invention is concerned with an electrically operable shaver with an elongate shaver housing defining a longitudinal axis (I), at least one short-hair cutter unit, at least one long-hair trimmer unit disposed on the shaver housing and at least one light source. The at least one light source is movable substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis (I) between a retracted position and an extended position.

The disclosure provides a sandwich structured cutter, which includes two fixed blades and a reciprocating blade sandwiched between the two fixed blades; edges of front ends of both the two fixed blades are provided with a row of comb teeth, an inner surface of each comb tooth contacting the reciprocating blade forms an acute angle with a lateral edge of the comb tooth; an edge of a front end of the reciprocating blade is provided with a row of cutting teeth with cutting edges; the edges of the front ends of the two fixed blades are overlapped with each other, the edge of the front end of the reciprocating blade is sandwiched between the edges of the front ends of the two fixed blades and is not exposed out of the edge of the front end of any one fixed blade.

A sandwich-structured cutter and a hair trimmer, the cutter including two fixed blades, each of which has a row of teeth at the front end, and a movable blade, which is sandwiched between the two fixed blades, can reciprocate relative to the two fixed blades in the longitudinal direction, and is an integrated blade. The movable blade has a row of teeth at the front end, the front ends of the teeth of the movable blade do not protrude from the front ends of the teeth of the fixed blades, and each tooth of the movable blade has a quadrangular cross-section shape, which includes parallel first pair sides and second pair sides forming four acute angles with the first pair sides. The cutter and the hair trimmer can lower the probability that the user gets injured and the cutting efficiency is high.
