The swivel knife holder assembly includes a shoulder screw defining an axis, and having a proximal threaded end and a distal head, and mounted on the shoulder screw is a bobbin assembly. The swivel knife holder assembly also includes a shell defining an interior, and having a distal opening and a proximal opening. A core is secured in the interior and is coupled to a knife for cutting fabric material. The proximal opening of the shell is defined by a flange and houses the shoulder screw therein. Threadably coupled to the proximal threaded end of the shoulder screw is a stem. The stem secures the bobbin assembly within the shell and also includes a mounting surface for engaging a reciprocating drive mechanism.

The second cutting edge portion and the first cutting edge portion contacting with each other at a first point and a second point. Another end portion of the movable blade has a contacting portion in contact with the first frame at a third point. The first point, the second point and the third point define an imaginary triangle. The pressure member presses the movable blade at a pressure contact position so that the movable blade presses against the fixed blade. The pressure contact position is positioned substantially within the imaginary triangle.

The cutting device has a cutter for cutting the sheet. The sheet discharge port is open at the first-side face of the housing. At least a part of the sheet passes through the sheet discharge port when the sheet is discharged from the conveyance path. The cutter positioned below the operation panel is exposed to an outside of the housing through the sheet discharge port.

An image recording apparatus includes a housing, an operation panel, a sheet conveyor, a recording device, and a cutting device. The operation panel is disposed at a first-side face of the housing in a first direction. The first direction is orthogonal to a vertical direction and extends from a first side to a second side of the image recording apparatus. In the first direction, the cutting device is closer to the first side of the image recording apparatus than the recording device is and closer to the second side of the image recording apparatus than the operation panel is. The cutting device includes a cutter, and a cutter carriage to move with the cutter mounted thereon along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and the vertical direction. The operation panel overlaps a movable area of the cutter carriage when viewed in the first direction.
