Pulley system for transferring motor torque to a cutting blade assembly
A pulley system for transferring motor torque to a cutting blade assembly is provided. The system is installed on a log cutting machine. A motor of the log cutting machine is positioned on a support table, which is intended to raise and lower during operation. The cutting blade assembly includes a cutting blade member for cutting a log off a tree trunk. A chain is attached to a cutting blade member and the support table, such that when the cutting blade member is driven downward towards the tree trunk, the connected chain and support table are lowered assisting the actuation of the cutting blade member via the pulley system.
Crane with saw attachment mechanism
A crawler type crane having a base carrier unit having a control unit associated therewith and an upper portion assembly having a boom portion coupled at end to the base carrier unit and to a jib portion at an opposed end. The boom portion includes one or more selected boom sections that are articulatable relative to each other. The crane also includes a multi-function attachment unit that is coupled to the jib portion and has a grappling unit for grasping a work piece and a saw attachment unit for cutting the workpiece. The crane can also include a first fluid regulating device coupled to the jib portion for regulating a fluid to the jib portion and to the multi-function attachment unit and a second fluid regulating device coupled to the boom portion for regulating a fluid to the winch element and to the multi-function attachment unit.
Pickup and alignment mechanism for logs and a method of use
A pickup and alignment mechanism for logs is disclosed along with a method of using the mechanism. The pickup and alignment mechanism includes a frame, a connector and a plurality of L-shaped tines secured to the frame. The plurality of L-shaped tines is grouped into pairs. The pickup and alignment mechanism also includes a pair of side tines. The pickup and alignment mechanism is designed to be removably mounted to a motorized vehicle. All of the L-shaped tines can be hydraulically or pneumatically actuated to remove from between one to six logs from a stacked pile of logs. The one to six logs are then raised above ground level and are aligned relative to one another so that they can be easily cut into smaller piece of firewood by a person with a chain saw.
Handling and variable length processing of materials
An attachment for handling and variable length processing of a material having a longitudinal axis includes a material engagement assembly and a processing assembly. The material engagement assembly is configured to engage the material about the longitudinal axis and includes a planar engagement surface and a curved engagement surface configured to move relative to the planar engagement surface and engage the material therebetween. The processing assembly is variably positionable along a portion of the longitudinal axis of the material when the material is engaged by the material engagement assembly. The attachment can include a roller system configured to drive the material along the linear travel path without length restrictions.
Vehicle with feller for tree limb removal in residential, commercial, municipal, utility, and line clearance applications
A truck for tree limb removal is disclosed in residential, commercial, municipal, utility, and line clearance applications. The truck includes a vehicle chassis supporting a plurality of wheels. A boom is supported by the vehicle chassis. This boom has an attachment end attached to the vehicle chassis at an attachment joint and a tool-supporting end rotatable and extendable relative to the attachment joint. A feller buncher tool is attached to the tool-supporting end of the boom.

POSITIONING SYSTEM
A positioning system, attachable to a vehicle for remote operation of the chain saw by a user sitting in the vehicle. A shock absorber indicator functions to tell the user when the weight on the limb is appropriate to engage the saw, and additionally cushions the drop when the saw cuts through the limb.
Tree processing system
A tree processing system may include a tree processing head and a controller. The tree processing head may include a header frame, a motor, a saw, an arm, and a sensor. The saw is used to cut a tree when the saw is driven by the motor. The saw engages with the tree from a first position and to a second position. The first position and the second position define a cutting zone therebetween. The sensor is used to detect a saw operation speed or current. The controller is coupled to the sensor and configured to determine whether the second position is reached based upon an increase of the saw operation speed or current detected by the sensor. When the second position is reached, the controller transmits a resting signal to the tree processing head to perform a resting operation.
