Tipped Saw Blade
20230020592 · 2023-01-19 · ·

A tipped saw blade includes a disc-shaped base metal and a plurality of tips. Each tip has an edge selected from a flat edge, a left beveled edge, and a right beveled edge. The tips are positioned circumferentially adjacent each other about a radially outer periphery of the base metal. Each flat edge includes a cutting edge that is oriented parallel to a thickness direction of the base metal. Each left beveled edge and each right beveled edge include a corresponding cutting edge that is inclined with respect to the thickness direction of the base metal. Cutting edge line lengths correspond to the lengths at which the cutting edges come in contact with a workpiece when cutting a workpiece. The cutting edges have the following relationship: (sum of cutting edge line lengths of the plurality of beveled edges)≤[((cutting edge line length of one of the flat edges)−(kerf thickness+1.5))×(number of the plurality of flat edges)×1.2].

Saw tooth and insert therefor

A saw tooth for a saw including a square saw tooth body to be mounted on a holder and for receiving inserts fastened to inwardly sloping seating surfaces on the cutting end of the tooth body. The inserts are provided with cutting edges. Between seating surfaces, the cutting end of the tooth body defines recesses for receiving intermediate members fastened therein. The intermediate members are provided with cutting edges, and the intermediate members abut the adjoining inserts to form a cutting surface about the periphery of the cutting end of the saw tooth and help protect the saw tooth body from damage including washout.

Saw blade and method for arranging saw teeth

A saw blade includes a group A (group A1 [=straight tooth+the odd number of set teeth]+group A2 [=straight tooth+the even number of set teeth]) and a group B (group B1 [=straight tooth+the odd number of set teeth having opposite set-bending sides to those in the group A1]+group B2 [=straight tooth+the even number of set teeth having opposite set-bending sides to those in the group A2]). Wide and narrow set teeth are arranged so that a max/min ratio of the number of pitches between the narrow set teeth having identical set-bending side and set width is 1.8 or less, and a max/min ratio of the number of pitches between the wide set teeth having identical set-bending side set width is 2.7 or less.

Linear Saw, Machining Method Using Same and Numerical Control Machining Device

The present invention provides a linear saw, and a machining method and a numerical control machining device that use the linear saw. The linear saw includes a machining part, used for cutting a workpiece in a linear extension direction of the linear saw and forming a machined slot in the workpiece. The linear saw further includes a space-keeping part, which is disposed so that the entire linear saw does not contact the machined slot or is not subjected to an acting force from the machined slot when the space-keeping part passes through the machined slot. Because the linear saw has a space-keeping structure, the linear saw has time and space to recover from deformation produced after cutting a workpiece, thereby efficiently preventing an accumulated error and greatly improving position precision of a machined gap.

Formed wire tie strap with integrated rivet for a saw chain

Embodiments herein provide formed wire tie strap for a saw chain. Embodiments also provide a saw chain including one or more formed wire tie straps. The formed wire tie strap may include a body with one or more integrated rivets extending from the body. In some embodiments, the body may be substantially flat. The rivet may include a rivet head configured to engage a rivet hole of an opposing tie strap and a shoulder configured to engage a rivet hole of a connecting link, such as a drive link. Some embodiments of the formed wire tie strap may include a pair of integrated rivets extending from the body. Some embodiments may include a rivet hole disposed in the body of the formed wire tie strap.

Tooth formations and arrangement for a saw blade

A saw blade can include a blade body having a cutting edge defined by multiple teeth. The teeth can be disposed in a repeating pattern including a raker tooth, a first set tooth having a light offset to a right side of the blade body, a second set tooth having a heavy offset to the left side of the blade body, a second raker tooth, a third set tooth having a light offset to the left side, and a fourth set tooth having a heavy offset to the right side of the blade body. Each tooth can include a tip, rake face, gullet having a gullet depth, and one or more clearance surfaces. The pitch distance and gullet depth of the heavy offset teeth can be less than the pitch distances and gullet depths of the remaining teeth to provide an increased amount of strength for the heavy offset teeth.
