Pivoting ratchet toe board
An adjustable toe board, an adjustable toe board assembly, kit and sawmill comprising the adjustable toe board are provided. The toe board comprises a baseplate having a first end, an opposed second end, and a rod extending away from the baseplate. The toe board includes a support bar pivotably coupled to the baseplate proximate the first end, spaced apart from the rod, and extending towards the second end, the support bar being configured to support a log. The toe board also includes a ratcheting arm pivotably coupled to the support bar, the ratcheting arm having a plurality of spaced-apart teeth defining notches adapted and positioned to selectively engage with the rod, wherein selective engagement of the teeth with the rod enables pivotal adjustment and releasable locking of the support bar relative to the baseplate during operation.
WOOD AND METAL WORKING TOOLS HAVING A LOW FRICTION COATING
A tooling system is disclosed for wood or metal working including a working element, and a work piece engagement surface at least partially surrounding, positioned adjacent to, or positioned proximate to, the working element, the work piece feedable toward the working element or the working element feedable across the work piece when the work piece is positioned against the work piece engagement surface; wherein the work piece engagement surface includes a low friction and/or non-stick coating.
Miter gauge lock for sliding table saws
Locking mechanisms are provided for locking the position of a miter gauge assembly to a sliding table of a table saw. The mechanisms are biased to a locking position and this bias can provide a sensible indication that the lock has been engaged. The locking mechanisms are configured to engage the guide bar of the miter gauge assembly at different locations along the length of the guide bar, particularly by engaging a series of spaced apart engagement notches. The locking mechanism thus allows the miter gauge assembly to be locked at several positions along the length of the sliding table, from a fully inboard position to a position in which the miter gauge assembly projects beyond the end of the sliding table. The locking mechanism is provided in different embodiments with manually actuated components that can be push/pull, pivoting, rotating or sliding.
Distance adjustment mechanism having a lock wedge for fence assembly of table saw
A fence assembly of a table saw includes rear and front sliding members on two rails of a table respectively, the rear sliding member having three top projections, the front sliding member having three forward projections, a transverse member interconnecting the sliding members, and a spring biased workpiece guide bar on the transverse member. The workpiece guide bar includes a front locking element for locking the front sliding member, a rear locking element for locking the rear sliding member, the rear locking element having a recess for receipt of the top projection, and a spring biased lever pivotably secured to a front end of the workpiece guide bar. A latch of the lever can be engaged with a protuberance of the front locking element to lock the front locking element or disengaged from the protuberance to unlock same. The lever includes a wedge for locking the front sliding member.
METHOD FOR OPTIMIZED WOOD PRODUCTION IN A CHOP SAW
An automated crosscut saw system utilizing a wood scanning unit to optimize the cuts in a particular piece of wood to remove defects or flaws and a method of use therefor is provided. The automated saw system has the ability to scan and cut a piece of wood simultaneously or in rapid succession without the need for scanning the entire length of the wood prior to cutting. Further, the automated saw system may eliminate the need for a secondary feeder and secondary queue.
Table saw with table sensor for sensing characteristic of workpiece
Various safety systems for power tools, and in particular table saws include detection systems for detecting a dangerous condition relative to a blade of the power tool, reaction systems for taking mitigation action in response to detection of a dangerous condition. The safety system may detect, prevent, and/or mitigate a dangerous condition associated with the power tool.
TABLE SAW INCLUDING STORAGE MOUNT FOR BLADE GUARD ASSEMBLY
A table saw including a table, a saw unit, a storage mount bracket, and a blade guard assembly. The saw unit includes a saw blade and a riving knife. The saw blade is extendable through a slot in the table. The riving knife is positioned behind the saw blade and has a first mating interface. The storage mount bracket has a second mating interface complimentary to the first mating interface. The blade guard assembly is attachable to the first mating interface of the riving knife to cover at least a portion of the saw blade. The blade guard assembly is additionally attachable with the second mating interface to attach the blade guard assembly to the storage mount bracket when the blade guard assembly is removed from the riving knife.
MULTI-FUNCTION POWER SAW SYSTEM
A power saw system including a workstation having a table top surface, a saw arm coupled to the workstation at a first hinge member, the saw arm being configured to pivot toward and away from the table top surface about the first hinge member, a circular saw coupled to a distal end of the saw arm, and a second hinge member provided to the saw arm between the first hinge member and the circular saw, the second hinge member configured such that circular saw can be selectively rotated about the second hinge member in a direction lateral to an axis of the saw arm.
Circular saw bench including a work piece feeding apparatus
The invention relates to a machine-tool, especially a circular saw bench. The machine-tool has a clamping device that can be moved with the work piece in an advancing direction and which is guided at a certain height in relation to the workbench. The clamping device is used to support the work piece, in a carrying manner, in the region of the clamping device, in relation to the workbench.
Lumber edger and method of edge cutting lumber
Provided is an improved lumber edger having a cross cut saw to cross cut lumber into two or more separate pieces to increase the available amount or value of boards, and a method of using the improved lumber edger.
