WOODEN STAVE AND BARREL FOR DRINKS
A wooden stave and barrel for the maturing or storage of alcoholic or spirit drinks, in which the internal side of the stave is machined to have at least two first channels and at least two second channels crossing with the first channels, determining a pattern of geometric elements. The elements remain submerged in the liquid contained in the barrel, providing a greater contact surface, thereby producing a greater transfer of the substances of the wood itself to the liquid. In addition, the pattern formed by the crossing channels permits a continuous and obstruction-free path for the liquid when it is extracted through one of the staves with an opening for the entry and exit of the liquid inside the barrel, thereby preventing unnecessary losses and unwanted internal residue for future reuse of the barrel.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING MULTIPLE CUTS WITH A RIP SAW
An automated inline rip saw system utilizing x-ray and optical scanning techniques to identify and detect flaws within a piece of wood. The present system may further utilize a precision skewing unit which may reduce or eliminate errors while allowing for precision rip cuts to be performed. Further, the present automated inline rip saw system may utilize multiple independently controlled saw blades to perform precision cuts. Finally, the present inline rip saw system may allow for more accurate detection of flaws or undesirable inclusions within the wood earlier in the wood production process, including the ability to scan for, identify, and remove sap wood from green lumber.

Stave, wooden barrel with staves, and method for producing staves
The staves for producing wooden barrels are assembled of individual segments which are fixedly connected to each other at end faces. The individual segments are shorter wood pieces that are assembled such that the stave has the required length. The wooden barrel is produced of such staves which are placed against each other seal-tightly with their narrow sides. The individual segments are machined at their end faces such that individual segments resting against each other after assembly are positioned at an angle relative to each other and form a raw stave that is curved across the length.

APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR MACHINING MATERIAL
A device for machining material includes a rotatable turret including a plurality of plank holding positions, each plank holding position including a plank holding device. A projector is configured to project at least one cut line on a first surface of a plank. A cutting device is positioned adjacent to the turret, the cutting device includes a cutting tool configured to cut a trim section along a second surface of the plank to establish a substantially planar portion and/or to locate defects of the first edge. A sensor is configured to scan the first edge of the plank and determine whether the groove and the substantially planar portion are within a predetermined tolerance. A jointing device is positioned adjacent to the turret, the jointing device includes a joint cutting tool configured to cut at least one groove on the second surface.
