FABRICATION METHOD OF MULTILAYER CERAMIC STRUCTURES BY CONTINUOUS FILAMENTS OF IDENTICAL COMPOSITION
A method for constructing multiple ceramic layers by winding continuous ceramic filaments of identical composition to prepare multilayer RF-transparent structures is provided. In the method, identical continuous ceramic filaments are wound to construct a layer with specific dielectric constant according to patterns, characterized by the winding angle, winding density/inter-fiber aperture and winding count/layer thickness. Layers with same or different dielectric characteristics forms a sandwich design to fulfill the desired mechanical, thermal and electrical requirements.

Method for producing a negative cast for a brace with corrective forces to control PLC deficiencies
A casting method for a brace having corrective forces is disclosed. The foot is externally rotated during casting and corrective forces are applied at the lateral knee and anteromedial ankle. With the knee flexed at between about 70 to 90, the cast is fully extended, which places the knee in a position which will reduce the pressures on the medial knee. This is the position desired during the casting process with the knee flexed and then held while extending the knee. The result is control of the posterior lateral rotation, therefore controlling the posterior subluxation of the tibial plateau to achieve the motion and alignment that the screw home motion produces.

Systems and methods for manufacturing prepreg tapes
Systems and methods for manufacturing unidirectional fiber prepreg tapes for CMC articles are provided. In one exemplary aspect, the method includes casting a matrix material on a carrier film to form a matrix film. The matrix material of the matrix film is then allowed to dry for a predetermined time. The matrix film is then wrapped on a drum and the matrix material is wet to a predetermined viscosity with a solvent. Thereafter, a fiber tow that includes of a plurality of fibers is wound about the drum so that the fiber tow penetrates into the matrix material and the matrix material impregnates the fiber tow to form the prepreg tape.
MANDREL WITH TRANSITION SECTION FOR MAKING MULTIPLE CMC ARTICLES
A method includes providing a continuous mandrel body disposed along an axis. The mandrel body defines, in order along the axis from a first end thereof, a pilot lead-in section, a first article section, a tapered transition section, and a second article section. Beginning at the pilot lead-in section, a continuous fabric sleeve is progressively formed on the mandrel body to the first article section, to the tapered transition section, and then to the second article section to form a fabric-covered mandrel. The portions of the continuous fabric sleeve that are on the first article section and the second article section form, respectively, a first article preform and a second article preform. The fabric-covered mandrel is then divided to separate the article preforms, followed by densifying the article preforms with a ceramic matrix material to thereby form CMC articles.

MANUFACTURING METHOD OF TURBINE BLADE MEMBER
A method includes a slurry preparing process of preparing a ceramic powder slurry, an impregnating process of impregnating the slurry into an inorganic fiber sheet to form an impregnated sheet, a sheet winding process of winding an impregnated sheet around a core to form a sheet-wound core, a pressing process of disposing the impregnated sheet between a first mold and a second mold opposed to each other and interposing a spacer therebetween at a portion where the impregnated sheet is not positioned, and then clamping the first mold and the second mold with a first fastener to come close in a direction facing each other, thereby applying pressure to the impregnated sheet, a drying process of heating and drying the impregnated sheet, and a firing process of firing the sheet after drying.
