CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE ARTICLES HAVING DIFFERENT LOCALIZED PROPERTIES AND METHODS FOR FORMING SAME
Ceramic matrix composite articles include, for example a first plurality of plies of ceramic fibers in a ceramic matrix defining a first extent, and a local at least one second ply in said ceramic matrix defining a second extent on and/or in said first plurality of plies with the second extent being less than said first extent. The first plurality of plies has a first property, the at least one second ply has at least one second property, and said first property being different from said at least one second property. The different properties may include one or more different mechanical (stress/strain) properties, one or more different thermal conductivity properties, one or more different electrical conductivity properties, one or more different other properties, and combinations thereof.

Architectural blocks with stone-like appearance and method of manufacture
The present disclosure describes architectural blocks configured to give the appearance of real cut stone. A fresh plaster composition may be applied to one or more surfaces of a block, such as a concrete masonry unit (CMU) to form an architectural block having the appearance of cut stone. The fresh plaster composition includes a cementitious component, such as white Portland cement, water, a limestone aggregate component, and optionally an adhesive component. The limestone aggregate component includes a fine sand portion and a coarse sand portion that effectively enable the appearance of cut stone after finishing of the hardened or curted plaster surface via sanding and/or polishing.
Method for fabrication of a composite part
A method for fabrication of a composite component including a first material containing steel 316L and a second material containing zirconia powder formed in a single sintering. The method for fabrication includes: a) forming a first injection molding composition including steel 316L powder and a second injection molding composition including zirconia powder; b) agglomerating via injection molding one of the first and second compositions to form at least a first part of a blank; c) agglomerating by injection molding the other of the first and second materials against the first part of the blank to form at least a second part of the blank; and d) non-consecutively sintering the first and second compositions forming the blank to obtain the composite component formed of steel 316L and zirconia.
CERMET AND/OR CERAMIC MULTI-COLOURED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A cermet and/or ceramic multi-coloured article, and in particular a bezel (1) of a timepiece, produced by a method for compressing at least two materials (2, 3) of distinct colours, the article including a relief decoration (8) of a different colour from the rest of the article, the decoration (8) being produced by laser ablation on one of the materials (3) after compression of the two materials (2, 3).
Tile edge systems and methods
Disclosed herein are tiles, systems, and methods related to manufacturing bullnose or other non-straight edge tiles. In a method of manufacturing a bullnose tile, the method comprises the steps of providing a tile, wherein the tile is a fired ceramic tile comprising a base and a decoration; cutting or milling the tile to form a bullnose edge; transporting the tile to at least a first printing station; printing at least one print layer of print media on the bullnose edge; transporting the tile to a curing station and curing the print media to provide the bullnose tile.

INORGANIC BOARD MANUFACTURING METHOD AND INORGANIC BOARD
An object is to provide an inorganic board and a method for manufacturing the same that are suited to achieving high waterproofness.
A manufacturing method of the present invention includes first to sixth steps. The first step involves depositing a raw material on a receiving plate B1 to form a first layer L1. The second step involves pressing a first portion Ma and a second portion Mb of a raw material mat M including the first layer L1 toward the receiving plate B1 to compress the first portion Ma and the second portion Mb. The first portion Ma and the second portion Mb are one end portion and the other end portion, respectively, of the raw material mat M in a first direction D1. The third step involves depositing a raw material on the first layer L1 to form a second layer L2. The fourth step involves planarizing an exposed surface of the second layer L2. The fifth step involves curing the raw material mat M pressed between the receiving plate B1 and a pressing plate B2 to form a cured plate M′ from raw material mat M. The sixth step involves processing the first portion Ma and the second portion Mb into a first back-side joint part P1 and a first front-side joint part P2, respectively. An inorganic board X1 according to the present invention includes the first back-side joint part P1 and the first front-side joint part P2 that are high-density parts.
Method of forming cooling channels in a ceramic matrix composite component
A method of forming a ceramic matrix composite component with cooling channels includes embedding a plurality of wires into a preform structure, densifying the preform structure with embedded wires, and removing the plurality of wires to create a plurality of corresponding channels within the densified structure.
CASTING CORE CONTAINING CERAMIC AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CAST ARTICLE USING THE SAME
A casting core containing a ceramic and having sufficient mechanical strength to withstand a casting process over a long period of time and good solubility in alkaline solutions. The casting core includes a core, a surface layer, and an intermediate layer between the core and the surface layer. The intermediate layer has a lower relative density than the surface layer and the core.
